Random act of kindness.

When did you last do a random act of kindness for someone? It doesn't matter how small just that it mattered to them.

Mine was yesterday while on a date, walking down the South Bank. A guy collapsed about 10 metres from us, hitting his head hard. Ran over as did another couple. He was unconscious for about 10 seconds. When he woke and tried to get up I held his head in my hands so he wouldn't hurt it again if he fell back. He was insistent on moving so I helped him to sit on a concrete block which is what he hit his head on. My date and the other couple were talking to him, picking his belongings up and fixing his glasses. An ambulance was called and the other couple said they'd wait with him allowing us to continue on our date.

That's lovely of you all

My mum walked past a guy in his 20's in Reading town centre the other day. He was looking really down & dejected so she went back & asked him if he was ok. He said he'd just been dumped by his girlfriend. She proceeded to tell him that it happened to all of us, that she maybe wasn't the one for him, that she'd been dumped in the past but that she had now been married for just over 50 years.

She asked if he liked toblerone & gave him a bar to cheer him up.

She said he had a lovely face & gorgeous smile. My mum is 76 & is always doing things like this

"I buy a homeless guy a big Mac meal every pay day"

I do the chip shop run every week for my service users

I do community nursing most of the people I go into are short term they come out of hospital and come onto the books for a couple of week but a few are long tearm, people with cancer, had strokes, elderly diabetics that can no longer self medicate etc, a few I go into have no family or family who don't really bother with them so for all my long tearm users who have no family to treat them I buy them a chippy every Friday the nicest thing is because the guy in the chip shop knows what I do he let's me have my weekly order for half price

Such a small thing makes some peoples day

I used to belong to a group called the Karma Army, who believed that if you did an R.A.O.K on a Friday it set you up for good karma over the weekend. I still follow the practice and do it everyday in the belief that if I do one R.A.O.K. for someone else then they'll spread the happiness

I was walking to work and a £10 note fell out the woman in front of me's pocket, I picked it up and gave it to her.

On another occasion whilst walking to work, I noticed a cheque caught in railings, on it was the address of the person it belonged to and on tracing the address on google, I realised she lived not far from me so I posted it through her door

Ordered some items online and got sent a duplicate order so I returned the second one. Company thanked me, which was nice but they are just a small firm who made an error because their system didn't update when they dispatched the original order. They should be commended for sending out the second order

Yesterday. A stranger walked into my house. Asked if he lived here. Found out his name eventually, and found out that he lived here before, with his mum. Turns out his mum died 6 years ago, and he lost his mind. I called the police, and they took him to the hospital, and then returned him to his home. I hope he will get the help he needs.

I'd always hand in a phone/wallet etc but isn't it human nature to stop if someone falls down in front of you? It still troubles me when I saw an elderly lady fall from her bike just ahead of me on my way to an emergency early pregnancy scan and due to the fact I was bleeding I didn't have it in me at the time to stop and help, that was 6 years ago now

Met an old rather dishevelled & worse for wear looking guy at a bus stop when out walking the dog who said "excuse me".

Was tempted just to ignore but walked over and said hello, turns out he had Aspergers and was trying to get home and was worried about the bus.

I helped him confirm bus times and blethered until he was done then kept walking the dog.

Glad I didn't pass him by.

Few weeks ago was at the sea side with daughter her hubby and our grandson who us 4 ..... They went to get him a drink in a shop and I saw a little boy come out of the arcade crying and saying mummy mummy .... An elderly couple said I think he's lost ..... People were walking around and past him ..... So I went up to him and asked what was wrong he said ... I've lost my mummy.... I explained to the couple I was going inside the arcade as he had said they were in there and to keep an eye open for a panicking mum...... After walking around for about ten mins and thinking ... I'm not going to find her so need to contact the police I heard behind me a woman shouting ... Thank god thank god .... She was in floods of tears. Hugging him and must have thank'd me at least ten times ... She had thought he had gone out of the building and had run up the road looking for him ..... The little boy who was about 4 said thank you for finding my mummy .... I had tears in my eyes and was just so happy they were reunited ....

Recently in an airport lounge, a bloke was ill, was sick in a cup. After filling the cup he didn't have anything to wipe his mouth . While lounge staff simply looked on in disgust I helped him by getting some tissues for him and discreetly left them on his table.

Chams or Socials

Last Sunday I was on my way to collect my eldest child & drove past a man kicking/stamping on a female (I assume partner), shouting, swearing & threatening to kill her.

I stopped & asked if she was ok (of course she was!!) he told me to fuck off. I turned into a child, called him a big fat bully & drove off.

As soon as I was safe I called the Police who dispatched a car straight away but sadly they had moved on. I hope he gets his comeuppance!!!

I was thinking today about a guy I helped - against the advice of my work colleagues - that turned out well.

Used to work in a daycentre for homeless people in London and a guy came in - real hard luck case, living out of his car - and in the (long) time it took to assess him his car was clamped.

That was all he had. The remnants of his life were in that car.

He was very upset.

And I paid to have his car unclamped - I'd just been paid, and I felt bad for him and we had taken a long time to see him.

He paid me back, slowly - a few pounds a week - the whole amount and I felt vindicated against the hard nosed caseworkers who said I'd never see the money again.

Couple of years later, I get on a bus in Brixton and the same guy is now driving the bus.

We recognise each other and we caught up. He'd put his life back together again - my act of 'kindness' was a very minor part in the hard slog he'd endured.

But it was good to see a happy ending.

Helped a lady who had fallen when walking her dogs. She bumped her head quite badly so I called an ambulance and her friend and stayed with her and her dogs until it came. After she had gone I stayed with her dogs until the friend arrived

Kindness costs nothing.

My son paid a girls bus fair for her once. Late night in winter and raining, and the bus driver was refusing her on the bus because she didn't have the right change. My lad stepped up, paid her fare in full and told the driver he hoped to god he never had a daughter that was left alone in the cold and rain very proud I was.

Last year we were at Liverpool music festival .... I had decided that the main act I wanted to see was an Adele tribute act ... So after waiting for numerous bands to sing she finally came on stage . Half way through the first song I heard a female in front of me say ... "Look at the state on him , he's pissed" , I glanced to my left and saw a female trying to hold a guy who was about 40 up against a fence . I instantly knew it wasn't drink and ran over .... The woman was sobbing and saying "he won't answer me " he was unconcious. I called to my friend who came over and we lowered him to the floor and put him in recovery after checking if he was breathing ... We then called the security who called for an ambulance..... We stayed with him ... My friend looked after his partner and I was talking to him telling him he was now safe and help was on the way x it turned out he had a heart attack.... A doctor who was there then assisted paramedics who eventually took him to hospital..... And we were thanked for helping him ..... Once they had gone I turned around and heard the last 3 lines of the last song of adeles tribute band ... I had missed it all but wouldn't change a thing in regards to helping him .... So many people just looked but wouldn't help ...

We allowed a woman to leave her car on our drive whilst she went to Belgium this weekend, if we hadn't she would have had to leave it on a public carpark and have either been charged loads or had it broken into. At least she knew it was safe. She then thanked us by bringing a bottle of whiskey back of which we are very thankful for. It always pays to be kind

Remember last year a couple of weeks before christmas at a cash point a lady using it and me waiting,

The lady took her card and walked off, I approached and a large amount of cash came out she hadn't taken

I grabbed it and went after her, stopped her and gave it back saying you will have a better christmas with this,

The funny part was the pure look of anger on her face at being stopped until she realised why and what she had done,

Damper bit, its risky helping people these days, gangs use distressed ladies to lure someone into a secluded area to rob and attack them, its a disgraceful act on the ladies taking part,
