Don't drink booze. That will lose you three to four pounds in four days.

Reduce your portions. Eat loads of veggies, and read Rosemary Conley.

Good luck

Drink plenty of water. Burn more calories than you take in. Lots of cardio. Stay away from sugar and saturated fats as much as possible. Get lots of sleep.

You're welcome x

Not sure a stone is possible in 5 days!

I would eat salad & fruit, lots of water, no alcohol or bread & up my exercise.

Have a good holiday!

That's fine you don't need the gym. Running will be enough so long as you mix it up with some HIT.

The obvious goods to stay away from ate anything processed and sugary. Foods to eat well as some have said, make sure to eat veggies daily, try not to eat too much potatoe as they are very starchy. Not too much broccoli either. More about the green leafy stuff. Meats like chicken, beans, pasta (wholemeal), watch how much bread you eat and make sure it's wholemeal. More natural foods you eat the better. Eat lots of food with protein to help build muscle as the more muscle you have the more fat you'll burn doing less. Don't over eat and don't eat after 9. It is important to sleep as your body does allot of fat burning process in this time.

If you have a smart phone, download myFitnessPal app. Great for logging your food and gives you a run down what is exactly in your food nutrition wise. It is unlikely though that you'll improve much in 5 days.

Hope some of that helps

Just go and enjoy ur holiday and continue the diet when u get home. Any quick losses pre holiday will just rapidly be gained whilst ur away. As someone else said download myfitnesspal as its a great app.

Losing a stone in five days? Very dangerous!

When I was attempting to lose weight quickly in order to get fertility treatment I lost 9 lb in a week. I existed on a banana, an apple and a small portion of homemade veg soup a day. When my weight watchers leader found out what I was doing she cancelled my membership stating that it was dangerous to my health and she could not support me in that

Or sensible or safe unless you are massively overweight!

Try and avoid bread, pasta and potato, get your carbs from green veggies and eat lean protein. You wont lose a stone in 5 days but you won't end up in hospital either!

All in the metabolism at end of the day. That's your friend, and starving yourself slows it down. When you're hungry, your body clings onto the fat for energy and won't burn it.

OP just eat sensibly and avoid crash diets as its far worse for your body than doing it slow...and it will just pile on again after the holiday.

1 pound = 3,500 calories.

1 stone = 14 pounds

14 pounds = 49,000 calories

A normal person eats 1,500 - 2,000 calories a day. Let's say 10,000 calories over 5 days.

49,000 calories less 10,000 calories = 39,000 calories.

So, all you have to do now is to eat nothing but lettuce for 5 days and work out a way of losing 39,000 calories.

All you are going to lose in that time is water. Sorry.

Gary

Don't ! I am a certified personal trainer and you will go aneamic, aside from a whole host of other problems.

Best way to loose weight is to regulate your diet.

For the summer fruit and veg works best, something low on sugar and high on fibre. A lot of watermelons or cucumbers to pad your existing meals. I would also try exercising, squats are great for women as they help you get that model but and are the highest energy exercise you can do. 5 sets of 5 with the heaviest weight you can lift. Any muscle you build (not that you can unless you grow mustaches ) doesn't actually look bad on women and a lot of it is infact internal so sex is going to feel even better for all involved.

And nobody can loose weight that fast without liposuction.

I downloaded my fitness pal and kept track of how many calories I was eating a day for a couple of weeks before we went on holiday. I cut out as many carbs as I could. I lost 5lbs in 2 weeks sticking to 1400 calories a day. Good job I lost it as I put on 6lbs whilst we were away.

Actually it isn't because for most of the meals it doesn't give an amount it will just say for example grilled chicken and salad so you can eat as much as you want. you can't have anything not on the menu and you can't swap and change between the days. I found it good to motivate me into healthy eating. It isn't recommended you do it for longer than 7 days either.

That's pretty much the same as the 7 day one. They are doable and you don't feel hungry either and they do work for a quick short term weight loss, or like I did to kick start me into action and give me motivation to continue.

It's not healthy to do this, so I'd encourage you to modify your expectations. And love your body.

Diet and exercise combined is the most enduring weight loss approach. Repeated bursts of high intensity cardio is proven to increase your metabolism for hours afterwards. Each bout needs last no more than half an hour. A few seconds of very high intensity, followed by micro rest. Repeat. Can be varied stuff per bout or the same repeated.

Porridge or slow release food to keep you satiated. Lots of lightly cooked veg, so its not mushy. Lots of water. Lots of good sleep. Keep healthy snacks around such as celery sticks.

Don't harm your body and future health by extreme and fast weight loss though.

Yes we all know it isn't healthy and the best way to lose weight is slowly etc etc etc.....but that won't help when you have a week until a holiday and you want to feel good about yourself by shifting a few lbs fast.....which is what the op was asking...

Want, want, want. Just sometimes you cant have what you want. A few pounds over isnt going to kill anyone or ruin a holiday. If the OP really, really, really must lose weight to feel good about themselves then its no good waiting until 5 days before the holiday begins.

I really dont understand the "i want, i want it now, its my right, i know its my fault but i still want the magic wand and i want it now" mentality. I know the OP has said that, im extrapolating various comments

Don't eat after 7 in the evening ,while staying away from sugars is very hard as that means giving up fruit .

Water before your evening meal will help ,smaller plates . but even if you eat nothing and drink water , 3/5 lbs and all back on in 2 days into holiday .

stated the d word this week as off Monday and only lost 2 lbs thus ,

The OP wanted to lose a stone not a few pounds. Thats almost 3lbs a day. Medics recommend half that in a week. And the OP doesnt want to starve either. Slightly inappropriate but cake and eat it springs to mind.

To late hun.

You have no chance so rather than trying to kill yourself in 5 days to achieve nothing just enjoy yourself.

Even if you ate nothing for 5 days you wouldn't loose a stone - whatever you loose through daft fad 5 day "diets" you'll put back on in the first day of your holiday.

Agreed over the long term medics do recommend that. But a week?? Lol it's perfectly possible to lose a lot if weight quickly and not starve yourself. I told the op how I managed to lose 11lbs in a week. If the op then sticks to healthy eating after that week then no, the weight doesn't come back. I know. How do I know? I did it!
