Firstly, just get on the TPS and simply mention it when they call - eventually the calls will stop - I rarely get any.

But if you have a mortgage and kids, you need ppi on your mortgage in case you get made redundant, or are incapacitated through accident/injury etc.

I was made redundant at the time of going through an expensive divorce. I had 2 mortgages, both with ppi, both mortgages were covered for 2 years. I've been made redundant on a couple of other occasions too. All in all, I'm up tens of thousands of pounds over the cost of the premiums

Except my morgage which even back then I could see it would never pay out I've never needed credit so defo haven't paid any ppi

they've started automated calls now too, dalek voice when you answer so you can't even tell them to sod off. Even had a couple of them missed call me to entice you to call back.

I just hang up as soon as they start

If I did decide to go after any refund I'd probably do it myself rather than have that lot just cashing in for doing sod all. Money Saving Expert has a page on how to if you need it Jo... (not sure we're allowed to post links so won't)

When you hear its a bot dail 9 they have to take you off their list. Sadly your still on 200 more

Go onto your bank/bs websites. Download their forms. Do not use an agent. I did one for a credit card and one for an old loan.. No extra paperwork. Both won.

yep, don't go via an agent they will take up to 25% for themselves and you've as much chance DIY as they do regardless of what they tell you

drat, should have got the company name of the argumentative one that called me. She wouldn't accept me telling her no, not interested. Argued back that it was my money and I should or the bank would just keep it and wouldn't quit. Told her so what if they do and hung up lol

cold calling is banned but most of these companies actually purchase your data which means they arent doing that.

assuming you get a human and not a robot, ask for there moj number. thats who they are regulated by, assuming they are operating within the law.

for anyone with genuine ppi complaints/queries, do it yourself with help from people like money saving expert. Its better than giving up 25% of your damages

I get a call about half past 6 every single night about an accident I had that I'm owed compensation for. I get texts 24/7 from the same agent. When I've reported it to the TPS and to various watchdogs all I get told is that they originate via a VOIP client (eg Skype) from outside the UK therefore there is nothing they can do about it.

If I did have an accident it was either cat related (and our cats aren't really loaded so if I sued them I'd effectively be suing myself) or else it involved me suffering from amnesia.
