If someone overuses the words I Love You, does it become meaningless?

So which would you rather?

All the time, or Not at all?

in the night garden

Preferably when they actually felt it but given those two options not at all.

I love you by the way x

We use it a lot but that's how we feel and it never gets worn out or meaningless. Maybe we are lucky i don't know but i know we are happy with the word.

We use it regularly but some people seem afraid of the word. It can't hurt you after all unless you let it.

Aaaaah, I think it's really lovely reading some of the responses on this thread. Deep down I'm an old romantic, and would love to say those three words to someone special again - one day.

As it is, I hear them every day from one or other of my three daughters, and I well up when it's not followed by "have you got any money mum".

Sniff, sniff...give me a moment, I'll be fine!!

That's also my reasoning for calling someone a twat and telling them to feck off.

It does turn me into a soppy mare when they say it. My eldest travels the globe on business, and one of her rituals is to phone me before she turns of her mobile and say "I love you mum".

Thing is it always tugs at my heart, as I have this fear that will be the last words I hear from her.

Daft I know...I'm having one of those days!!

Not at all, I have a friend who's other half is in the forces and away in Afghanistan a lot, and they say it all the time, and mean it.

I know that it is partly because they fear it might be the last thing they say to each other, but they genuinely mean it too.

Sasha says it hundreds of times a day but in truth it's too much, once a day, once in a while might give it a little more potency but perhaps thats just her cultural way either way I am not complaining
