Lottery 10 more Balls

The Poor Man's Dream will now get harder

In effect, by increasing the Lotto ticket price by 100% to £2, Camelot has given punters a massive, inflation-busting price rise. This caused a flood of protests by disgruntled players, with thousands posting on Twitter and Facebook that this 'rip-off' will stop them playing the UK's most popular flutter.

Clearly, this proposed price increase is aimed at making Camelot and its partners more money, but may backfire spectacularly, resulting in a 'Boycotto the Lotto' backlash

AND NOW; NOT JUST CONTENT WITH £2 PRICE RISE they now increase the number of balls

the introduction of 10 extra balls.

From October, Lotto players will have 59 numbers to choose from - up from 49 - in what is being billed as the biggest overhaul of the National Lottery in its 21-year history

All in all its still considered the poor mans dream and escape from reality

keep on dreaming, whilst Camelot makes billions

How long ago dud the price increase to £2??? Got to be at least 2 years ago, surely.

Bit if a punch in the gut for people who have been doing the same numbers for the last 20 years.

Also the bloody thing rolls over all the time already. Hope they're going to remove the stupid maximum 4 rollovers rule.

"The Poor Man's Dream "

It's actually the poor man's tax that cleverly removes money from those least able to afford it and redistributes much of it to the middle class as funding for the arts, sports and heritage.

At 14 million to 1 against the chances of a jackpot is negligable. If you sat in Wembley stadium and someone kicked the ball into the crowd the chance of it coming to you is around 90,000 to 1 against. Now make Wembley 150 times bigger and tell me you fancy the chances of the ball be kicked to you?

£2 a week from someone on a very low income is a relatively large 'tax' on their income whilst it may be inconsequential to a high rate taxpayer.

Just a way of getting money from those who can least afford it IMHO

If you want to have a punt save up the same money each week and buy blocks of Premium Bonds. That way you can still win a million and get your money back anytime.

Well i have the formula to win every week -- I never do it and win £4 a week by not doing it --- its a win win --- over £200 per year --- the comepany are just on the take and with the numbers dwindling how long before it comes to a halt

exactly

they were not satisfied at raising the fee by 100%, so now they add a further 10 balls to ensure you have a much less chance of winning

only fools will now play the lottery

I had most of my luck playing hot picks, With two numbers winning £40 was a pound A line when I last had some, I could go weeks not winning and longer If that happened I stopped playing for a while, Even thou the urge was there to gamble, You do have to have the will power to be Able to do that thou as I guess many Won,t have, over a ten year period I had Back well over a £1000 playing most Weeks, or missing a week or two or even a month or more if not winning, I got large gaps thou between not winning more than I was used to the Last time I played them so thought I Would have a change and switched over To scratch cards I have found over a few years of regularly playing them the returns have been ok playing the £2 and £3 scratch cards again I try and stick with the cards I win with While they still go on the counter and Again if I,m not winning I have break From them If only a week or two the One I have been playing at the moment Just gave me a tenner back for £3 but I had a run useing the same kind of Scratch card before and loseing on 4 Cards £12 It was the fifth card that Gave me the win but before loseing on The 4 scratch cards in a row, I won on the same type of scratch card 3 times In a row winning £31, and of course Bigger prize,s to be won I did win £40 Once this year on a card have done Once before in the past along with £100 a few years back surpriseing how Those little wins can get bigger, but Its knowing the cards to play, haveing The will power when to have a break from them that makes the difference and setting yourself a target on your Average spend a week or more so you can keep control on what you win and lose to a certain level my wins upto Now have been in front and in line on What I have lost so as long as you Know what system you have in place and Stick with it with a good card it can Work for you but you have to be prepared not to be greedy and gamble Just for the sake of it as it could Pay off, The downside is any good or reasonable regular paying out cards I find camelot will discontinue them when the prizes run down which I have Noticed before..

When it was £1 a line we had 4 lines on a Wednesday and 4 on The Saturday so £8 a week and then it went to £2 a line , we decided that was that and although we had the same numbers for about 15 years I never look at the numbers now and only sometimes put a lucky dip on the Euro's.

Two observations I always think about winning the lottery.

You have more chance of correctly guessing a complete strangers telephone number than you have of winning the lottery.

It's better to buy a ticket for Saturday's lottery an hour before the draw, as opposed to a few days ahead. Apparently there is more chance of dieing before the draw than actually winning.

I still buy a bloody ticket though. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Salford Quays , Manchester

I have played for a number of years.

Was doing £5 lucky dips by Direct Debit, every Sat.

Not won many times or much money.

Increased the plays to £2, so now £10 per week.

When and if they increase the number of balls, I will call it a day.

I think we'll just stick to the local bookies (football) a lot more chance of winning.

Please please, stop doing the camalot lottery. This is a no brainer. Do the irish. Pick 6 balls from only 45 numbers, and is only a quid!

I do it on Wednesdays and Saturdays and I've had so many wins.

Sack camalot off.

yep, we were the same, rarely do it now, just lucky dips on the big roll overs.

They should have just left it at one draw every saturday, instead of introducing more games and splitting into two draws a week, the greedy fuckers......they can shove their national lottery up their athurian arses now
