Yet my horse becomes very seriously ill

the car dramatically fails its mot and have to find 600£ today

Mr Tax Man takes more than what my OH brings home

and i have aplped for 30 jobs to be declined because im over 18 hence nat minumum wage higher or not bloody polish .....

Had a fab weekend now back down to earth with a bump .....

Just depressing (sorry i just need to sulk )

How can you be taxed more than you bring home in wages?

Sorry to hear that chick, sending hugs for you and the horse.

If you speak to the vets about the money situation, they may well be able to set up a schedule for repayment, mine did when I had to have an emergency op on my dog.

Hope this helps xxx

I don't mean to be unkind but I see it as putting things in perspective. I know you feel you're having a hard time but when I read other posters having their limbs amputated, losing their jobs, struggling to provide for their families, nursing very sick children, losing their homes etc but still remain positive.

Someone with a roof over their head, a husband who works to provide for them, a healthy family and horses complaining in a manner that suggests because they fund raise for good causes how unfair of the gods to inflict suffering on their horse and not hand them a full time job a tad self indulgent without a grasp on reality.

I know it's all relative, just my opinion on things!

Hmmmm so if you have a bit of misfortune and are struggling with money people think someone shouldn't have their horse anymore?

Do people get rid of their pets if they lose their job? A horse to some people isas much part of the family as the family dog....it would be a wrench to just get rid if you lose your job etc.

To the OP.......I am glad to hear your horse is a bit better today, hopefully it will carry on that way.

What was wrong with him/her?

i think what she means is by the time the tax man had his cut he takes off her OH more than he leaves him

which is still wrong as the highest tax you can pay is 40% and to take more than you leave would be paying over 50% which noone pays

Although obviously the Laminitis isn't good, at least she is looking better after her brush with the bush.

( there sounds like there should be a joke in there somwhere, if it didn't involve a horse of course )

isnt that the same for most of us?

we couldnt live on handouts as it goes against the grain, the company i work for are losing the main contract in feb so only one of us will have a good regular income, me?..i will have to get on my northern bike which good old norman tebbit told us to use in the 80s and go find work elsewhere.

have you considered eating the crocked horse?..saves money at the butchers?

As a horse owner i find you comment about eating the horse disgraceful and how would you feel if someone told you to eat your children or your dog !!!

Enough said or i will end up lowering my standards and really having a rant, Not in the least bit funny !!!!

Hard to have a sense of humour when your horse has just had a exceptionally painful procedure to fit specialist footwear, and having to hold her off the floor so she didnt fall over wants fun, incidentally job inter_iew went well though so suppose one good thing !

What doesnt kill us makes us stronger...

So always look for the positives...

I think that its been taken a little out of proportion about the horse joke... I used to own a horse and still found it amusing. My father would make a similar joke all the time..

It always amuses me how we can think OMG about eating something we see as a pet, yet not think twice about having bacon or a chicken.. :D

do not oppsoe horse meat from those killed humanly, but when trying to save a much loved animal, not what you needed to hear.

Yes they make specialist shoes, she is standing just, but concerned it may be somthing more sinister than first thought !

As an ex professional groom, I do understand it was a thoughtless comment,( about the butchers) but most laypersons would not understand

A)how serious laminitis is and

B)how serious poisoning can be due to the complicated nature (and size) of a horses digestive system.

I hope you get the prognosis you wish for.
