I'm feeling pretty ill and have come to a sad realisation as a single woman.

It's sad that it's far easier to find someone willing to get naked and put their bit's in you than it is to find someone to comfort you. Stroke your hair and look after you a bit.

Where have all the noble gentlemen gone.

Obviously I don't expect such things from strangers on a sex site. However if you're single why isn't there a place for that on a no strings and no expectation basis?

Aww it's rotten feeling ill, do you have friends or family that would bring you a treat like magazines, maltesers and a dvd? My sis is my saviour if I feel poorly.

Sorry to hear that OP. hope you get better soon. Understand what you say...its a sad thing...huggs...kindness....thoughtfulness are everything in this world. ..sex is not. On here you think sex was...but it really isn't. Long distance hug sent to you. Having lost so much in my life...all I need is a hug sometimes..x

I think that's because, in the main, swingers are happy with the emotional side of their life, they just want a little extra fun, and sadly developing feelings can be the nemesis of that.

You are probably right last year I met someone who would have done anything for me. I just didn't fancy him at all and so it became creepy to me. Maybe I was too hasty or maybe Im hoping for too much lol

Hope you feel better soon OP. I've. Been unwell for 6 weeks & the Docs still can't get a handle on what's wrong. (Probably why I've been hanging around so much on the Forums). Like another poster expressed I don't want people fussing over me when I'm ill but understand where you're coming from. Anyway sending a hug & best wishes that you recover soon. There's still a few genuinely, good hearted folk out there so don't let your low spirits take control & make you think otherwise. Get well soon.

Yes, that's what relationships are for, I would only want someone really close around when I am ill! I remember my Mum bringing me a boiled egg and marmite soldiers when I was a kid and too unwell to get up. My husband was clueless - he used to bring me chocolate when all I wanted was boiled eggs or chicken soup lol!

also poorly, struggling with the mini me, best mate away, mum and sisters all on night shifts, ex says if im ill hes staying away so he doesnt catch it, fecking twat i dont want him near me id like him to help with his offspring!

If honest deep down I probably do want that. In fact I'd love nothing more than happily ever after. However like many single people who end up on here we have our guards up or we haven't found it and this provides a bit of fun. It's in some ways safer than attempting the dating game.

Also I'm rarely the type men want anything more than fun with so at least I do it on my terms here.

I'm sure there are many who would disagree and probably feel people with such a view point don't belong on a swinging site.

Nope. Nothing wrong with that.

But I'd advise not to advertise the fact or even go looking.

If it happens - it will. As it would through any kind of interaction. There's nothing wrong with being upfront but it does leave you open to people taking advantage.

I have no strings friends who will offer words of comfort but as for stroking my head etc I'd rather be left alone when I'm ill. I have had a very nice massage from someone when my body was hurting though. For cuddles when I'm feeling low I have two stupid dogs and grandchildren.

I'd say the elephant in the room here is the loss of community. If you were in a tribe everyone and their aunt would be coming in to mop your brow and feed you wholesome chicken soup. But then... if you were in a tribe you'd probably be married to your brother, have had your genitalia transformed into a piece of body art representing a wild boar, and you'd be dying from malaria

Seriously though... this is where online communities break down and real communities come alive. It's why the web, ultimately, is a negative influence... unless you get out and meet people, arrange socials, and create real friendships from it. Lol can never replace the sound of laughter.

But it seems as if, as a culture, we've all retreated and now it seems ever more difficult to build communities of friends. It's such a struggle here compared to America. I know they're more web-centric... but they're also more social and, over there, it seems like you can't get through a day without making a new friend. In the US we knew and partied with all our neighbours... here? They're hiding behind their net curtains probably making friends on weird sex websites
