To me every weekend is more of a binge thing . I have regular drinkers that have 2-3 pints after work most days

I drink every weekend but I never binge.

Work doesn't allow me to drink during the week so I abstain.

But regular as clockwork Friday lunchtime I'll start imbibing. So I guess you can call me a regular drinker.

That's daily drinking. Someone could go out every weekend and have 3 drinks a night. It's regular but not binge drinking.

When I was working I used to have 2 or 3 pints most days after work and maybe 4 or 5 at the weekend. Even though it was regular, it was also social as I used to drink in the pub.

Now I'm off work through psoriatic arthritis, I drink slightly less and I can't afford to drink in the pub, so I guess I'm an antisocial drinker

This pretty much ^^^^^^

I fall in the occasional and social drinker bracket. I'll only drink in company, never on my own and won't have a drink for weeks/months at a time.

I say social if you just drink with friends/on nights out/occasions; regular if you go to the pub four times a week like clockwork regardless of who is out, or if you drink a lot alone.

Regular- every evening or so. Most weekends.

Social- catching up with friends, the odd drink of an evening.

Regular to me involves a pattern - be that frequency of visits to the pub after work or getting home and pouring a glass of wine.

Social is just that - no pattern, drinking when out with friends, on special occasions or when not alone.

I don't drink at home. I'll only have a drink at parties/social gatherings (and even then, I may not). But that can literally be as little as once a year. - I cook with alcohol much more than I drink it.

I'd say if you drink at home or go to the pub regularly after work or at the weekends, you're a regular drinker.
