... The one that still makes you weak at the knees?

I must need my head examining, every now and then I weaken and text him, despite him really not deserving another second of me thinking of him.

Today's one of those days... And all that will happen is he'll ignore me and I'll be even more pissed off that I weakened!!

Hells yes!

Did that to myself just this wknd. In my defence I was VERY d*unk and as I was ignored anyway there was no harm done.

Please don't do it! You are a STRONG INDEPENDENT woman. Delete that number ... erase it from your mind.

yep... I'm having a weak moment myself... I won't message him as I know I'll feel worse afterwards but fuck it's hard!! I seen him yesterday for the first time in months aswell- just typical when I'm having a weak moment.

Absolutely! They are trying to deny the rejection.

Some think it's love but it's just them wanting to heal their pain.

Sooner they realise that the only way is forward, sooner they will find better times.

No relationship is ever a dead loss. It was good while it was good.

Have to agree with cheeky, Mav and Granny here! Exes are Exes for a reason! If you both want to get back together then fair enough I guess - but persuing someone who isn't interested any more must be soul destroying! Best to give your attention to someone who'll return it!

Thanks all. There are a still tortured souls out there with me!

I do understand about them being ex's for a reason, if it had if worked we would still be together now.

I go through these phases every now and again, I think it's when I'm feeling lonely. Maybe it's more if missing the company of being in a relationship rather than actually missing him.

What if your number is blocked? They may never have a clue you succumb to the pressure.

I sent a couple of messages to an ex, when I was contacted for support and then someone with the same name contacted me too. Never again. I like clean breaks or the patio redone, for same result.

Took me over 2 years to get over mine after 20 years together. The day I applied for my Decree Absolute I realised I was done. Still have to see him 4 or 5 times a week though because of the kids. One day I'll thank him for his screw up as I finally feel free. I just wish he knew how much fun I'm having now

Maybe she's hidden numbering him.

Or the fact he's ignoring her each time might suggest he has blocked her number :p

I did wonder that -I wasn't sure if the text still sent, but guess it does. Mobile phones are a curse in some ways! I remember writing letters to a lost love in my teens - much more therapeutic than texting.

No

However, I have a woman I would give anything to be with, but she's with someone else and it'll never happen. We're such incredibly honest, close friends and it hurts me that she has someone who doesn't really seem to care for her.

I seem to specialise in unrequited love, even as a forty-something. I can't stop thinking about her and have just woken from a dream (not rude!) in which we were together.

Like texting an ex, I know I have to get past this, but it's so damn hard.

It's difficult how long ago did you split up and how long were you together. Sometimes it takes more to let go than to carry on but the rewards are greater once you have let go.
