In Leeds where we are from, men call other men 'love', usually older men but eg "Hello Tony love, y'allright?" This from burly guys in a pub to other burly guys in q pub.

It's just a term people use. To take offence at it is ridiculous.

Wouldn't say annoy but don't understand it when my names clearly on the profile...but I bloody hate Love..They say it a lot around my area in shops etc and boy it grinds my gears.Once counted how many times one shop assistant in Tesco said it to me...12 times ...I needed to sit down in a dark room after my daughter was giggling away as she knows how much I bloody hate the word love from total strangers
