Recently on a weekend break in Amsterdam, I was wandering around the (what is left of it) Red Light District, when I happened across 'The Exhibition of 5000 Dolls'.

This little shop nestled between a live sex show, a basement coffee shop and a building of window girls, held the bizarre collection of an old German ladys 5000 dolls. You go down a floor to be confronted with approx 3500 dolls staring at you, another 1000 hanging from the ceiling, and then various smaller displays.

Never have I seen or been in such a creepy place, and I've been in a church made of human bones.

So what other weird and wonderful finds have you discovered in strange places?

on the road to nowhere in particular

The shell grotto in Margate is pretty surreal. Nobody knows whether it is 300 or 3000 years old.

"I've been in a church made of human bones."

I'd love to know where that was. We have visited a church where a statue of Satan welcomes you in through the front door
