As a mother when my kids were babies I would blow raspberries on their bums a maternal instinct came over. Now seeing a mans bum that is the size and shape I like, a carnal instinct happens. Why this happens? Don't know but feels good.

I think because bums are something both genders have and are near the respective naughty areas there is an attraction regardless of your gender preferences. Plus there is a curve to them, a grabbable factor that is ergonomically fascinating and the bit where buttock meets thigh is an erogenous zone on both sexes. Off the top of my head that could be the reason we like bums.

Like, back in our early days as a species it was hard work.
