Ok so heres a question....

If you are looking for a social do you have to be physically attracted to the person to actually meet them if you are just having drinks.

yes, I do personally. my idea of a social is a potential meet for some fun. if I don't find them attractive physically then I feel its a waste of everyones times meeting if nothing more is intended.

Yes. If I'm not likely to be interested in having sex with them, then they must have something else exceptional to make me want meet them for coffee. Shared interests or similar.

In my line of work doing what I do I would happily meet if the ground rules were set that it was drinks and nothing more even if I wasn't physically attracted to the individual

I prefer a social from fab to be with someone I at least vaguely fancy with an eye to doing more in the future... doesn't always progress. My fab time is limited and meeting people I wasn't interested in would mean even less time to meet.

Organised mass socials? No - we've enjoyed banter and beers with many we'd never get jiggy with.

Pre meet socials for us when we were meeting just entailed a quick drink before potential fun - so yes - we'd only have set one up with someone we were attracted to.

But also wanted to say that socials are part of the fun. The sizing each other up, talking suggestively, flirting... it's the Hors d'oeuvre

The way some talk about swinging... it's like they don't even bother to get undressed but turn up at the door naked. It's nice to have some flirtation, mystique... personally I find it quite erotic to meet someone in the vanilla world with the mutual idea that there might be a secret sexual world beconing. There's also a subtle public naughtiness issue... where only we know what's going on between us... whilst the rest of the bar is unaware

As looks arnt our main concern we tend to meet up with couples for a drink n a chat and see if we click in our outlook and sense of humour..After all sexual attraction starts in the brain box.
