Are we too quick to Judge?

First impressions count.....a generally accepted statement, was usually based on actually meeting someone so that you could 'take a view' on their visual impact, verbal communication and body language before judging them and how they interact with you.

Technology has changed the field. The internet and texting probably means many if not most people are rejected based on how well they interact via this media rather than how they interact with people face to face.

Is the 'virtual' personality becoming more important than the real personality?

Are we guilty of hiding behind technology?

Are we too quick to judge?

IMHO, it depends how good one is with one's gut-feel and instinct, some of us are better at judging quickly than the others.

Each to their own I'd say!

I do judge people on a first message,and I am aware of this.

If the message is a hi hows u then its gonna get ignored. If its a you wanna fuck then again , deleted.

Also the ones that dont read my profile get deleted too.

So yes I am judging quick.

I like mail from people that read and respond to my profile and then that gives them a big positive tick for me. Then I read their profile and view pics and verfications and then see if they interest in me in some way and then would mail them back.

I think when you meet people in person it is very different and you can get a more rounded picture of them as you can instantly see how they act,speak,look and flirt. Then if it all appeals then you chat more and go from there.

Of course we're too quick to judge.

I was always regarded as a complete asshole until people met me and realised that I was only a little bit of an asshole and apert from that, i was an ok sort of guy, in a half assed kind of way

excellent question....and personally, I don't judge a person, but I do decide whether they are worth following up by how well they communicate. Communication being key for me.

I guess the irony is, the person we are on-line is rarely the person we are in the company of friends and colleagues; we are cushioned by anominity which possibly makes us braver, cruder, more forward, more offensive even.
