Good luck, from never running to finishing the 3 peaks in under 24 hours you'll feel amazing afterwards

Good luck op, Luke started running last year and hasn't looked back since, he's done a few 10k, half marathons and just started doing park runs every other Saturday. I did my first park run this morning!

"Park run?"

Park Run is a programme of free weekly 5km runs, all over the UK.

I too started running too after weight loss.

Still hate it! But do Park run most weeks. Have done 2 10k and 2 half marathons now.

I'm not a natural runner!

Sign yourself up for the Birchwood 10k in August

Excellent run organised by the Spectrum Striders, on a pretty flat course.

You won't come across a better organised event

And instead of a medal you get a nice fluffy towel with an embroidered logo

All the ladies also get a bunch of flowers

I only took up running myself at the age of 39 and after losing just over 17 stone four years ago.I've had a couple occasions where I've gone out too often and had a few niggles with knee and ankle pain etc which isn't surprising after a life of being severely overweight.

I hit the road this morning at 8am and took my Sunday run of just under 9.5km into town to meet friends for coffee etc.

I absolutely love running as I do cycling these days and just can't imagine going back to a life without it.

Bloody well done, good for you.

Just goes to show determination and hard work, is always better than pills and excuses.

Really well done, chapeau.
