did you meet and marry the person you thought you would

As we grow up we think about the type of person we want to meet and in some ways marry. Did you meet that person or did you have to compromise on certain things? You hear people mention that before they got together they didnt like them for ages and then they get together. Discuss..

I never thought about who I was going to marry. Made a huge mistake the first time and absolutely the right decision the second time.

I wouldn't say he was the person I thought I'd end up with but when I met my late husband just knew he was for me within 6 was we were living together and until the day he died after 25 yrs of marriage we were still very much in love , probably still would be if he was still alive today

I definitely lucked out with my wife, I'm sure punching above my weight. I did not imagine that I would find the love of my life 6,000 miles away in a primary school!

Nope. Married a guy who kills pirates for a living and climbs El Capitan at Yosemite in his spare time...

Can say pretty much that he has set the bar very high, and even though we aren't together anymore, I think finding a man as cultured, capable and with such a strong sense of character will be very hard.

But He also taught me to not put up with lies and games by his questionable behavior! Lol he was a very impressive knob! Lol

I wouldn't say the first time I met him I knew I would marry him as we worked in the same nightclub as we moved in different circles but 1 quiet boxing day night at work we got talking and haven't looked back since 12 years and even stronger he's by no means perfect but neither am I, all I know is he's my best friend, a fantastic father and step father to my children and I could never imagine life without out him

I'm not the marrying kind.

But the woman I'm with, we got together for the sex and, turns out, some years and a child later, we quite like each other.

If you'da told me then that we'd still be together, I'd've laughed in your face.

'Tis a funny old world.

Nr Dumfries

Got engaged after 3 months going out, married 18 months later. Yes I knew he was right and we lasted 13 years. Four years later married someone else, divorced after 12 years. Won't be doing it again. My first husband is the one I should still be with but we were young, stupid and didn't try hard enough to work it out.

Wise with hindsight.

I married the perfect guy. Just not perfect for me. We live worlds apart in the same house. Maybe we'll fix it maybe we won't.

but fuck me they can carry themselves well don't they?!... He definitely has a presence when he walks into a room. Everyone wants to talk to him... Girls fling themselves all over him. That's probably why I'm extremely fussy about meeting singles on here and very very rarely do. I cannot stand the inevitable pissing contest and have to walk away.

No.

But it seems that we are much better at being apart than we were at being together.

So, no regrets.
