near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack!

No, nothing pervy sadly!

On Sunday 14th of this month I am taking part in a tractor road run for the Friends Of Ferguson Heritage to celebrate 21 years of the organisation. The whole run is from John O` Groats to Lands End but has been split up into 30 mile (or so) sections and mine is from Thornbury following the A38 down into Bristol City Centre and out the other side past the airport to Bridgewater! As yet I do not know which route I have to take through the City but logic suggests either around Cabot Circus and past Temple Meads or exit by Debhnams, right split by the "sails", past the Hippodrome and the Museum and over Clifton Suspension Bridge.

What I would like is for people living along or near the route to come out and take photos that I could then submit to the FOFH magazine as I intend to write a small article. I do not want movie clips but I am happy to see them posted on YouTube - suggest they are posted under "FOFH JOG run".

I should be starting from Thornbury around 9.00am and finish in Bridgewater around 11.00am.

Anyone else interested but not in the Bristol area can look up the whole route on the FOFH website events page.

Finally, to anyone caught up behind myself and fellow Little Grey Ferguson drivers on the route - sorry for any delay and we will let you pass as soon as we can!

How wide is the tractor?

The barriers on the Clifton Bridge are too narrow for some cars/vans - you might want to double check the route as you'll have problems trying to do a u-turn with a queue of irate motorists behind you!!

Good luck though!

There`s a thought! Will have another look at street view again and get the tape out although it`s not that much wider than my Disco!

Thanks for the heads up!

No need for Vaseline! Bridge width limit is 2.4 metres, tractor is 1.85 metres! And it`s not over 4 tonnes either!

Happy days!

Reminded me of driving up to Hammersmith Bridge a decade or so ago to find a Ferrari F40 wedged between two posts.

A pricey error of judgement!

Just bumping this and to say my route over Clifton Bridge is confirmed as it`s only me doing this section so come out and wave, take photos, hurl abuse or whatever takes your fancy!

Another bump as it`s the day before! There will only be me doing this but having a cab and being grey, my tractor will be standing out a little, especially with the queue of traffic caught behind it!

Got as far as Clifton Suspension Bridge. Foiled by engine problems and excessive traffic for the Bristol Triathlon

Did you know about the Triathlon? You did what you could on the day. Well done for that.

First I knew about the triathlon was 10.00pm Saturday night! Thanks for the praise and I suppose I`d better put a Youtube clip of me up to my tricks!
