I've thought about this several times and I wouldn't tell anybody.

What I would do however is pay my mum's house off for her.

Then get a nice but not O.T.T place for myself and put the rest into property on auction to develop and rent out.

The population is going one way, up. So property is a safe long term bet.

Plus my best friend is a plasterer and knows other people in the trade business and what to look for and obviously the restoration would be business his way so he wouldn't mind helping.

Definitely tell as few people as possible.

I think I'd feel too guilty sacking work off completely so I'd work my notice or pay for someone from an agency to cover it immediately as I'd feel bad dropping my colleagues in it.

I'd pay off my debts, my family's debts and my close friends debts.

I'd buy a family home with plenty of garage space then head off to order a Maseratti Quatroporte and an Alfa Disco Volante (plus buy several classic Alfa's).

I'd also buy a house for each of my kids and a second home for myself in Louisiana.

I'd tell as few people as possible.

Then as soon as I possibly could I would go to the shop to get them checked!

I'm not how it works if you win a massive amount. Or how long you would wait for the money.

I'd go and buy some bottles of Asti and champagne and go to my parents house, text my boy to come over from where ever he maybe and tell them I had some good news

My Brother won a ton of money in 1983 when he was 21 (I know, many of you weren't born then). They tried to convince him to be in the papers and have the cheque presented by a sports celebrity. He didn't. He bought a house, a car and took me to Hawaii for 16 days. I love my Brother!

Depends on the amount......

Wouldn't tell many people to start with....would pay off a few mortgages (ours, mums, best friends etc), would get hubby whatever car he wanted.

Would tell work to poke it.....

And would book a nice holiday.

Would also like to start some kind of animal sanctuary and live in the middle on no-where so would sort that out after the holiday!

I'd tell nobody outside my immediate family. Move house, but stay local. I'd continue to work for my company until my replacement was trained and use that time to think what I really wanted.

I've no real reason to make big changes.

If I won it this Friday I'd finish my 12 hour night shift calmly walk home in the rain ring around the family at 6 in the morning to let them know then order a sky writer to let the world know

As to what I'd do with it always wanted a wheel clamping company of my own and maybe buy out my work place and take back on the guys they've laid off and with the money run it properly

I'd put enough aside to see me through the rest of my studies (five years, at least) and buy the house I live in. Then I'd buy one of my partners the coffee shop he's always wanted to run, and the other partner a new time trial bike. (And possibly a car so that he's not driving his current death-trap.)

Then I'd give a bursary of money to my university to fund mature students interested in doing History of Art research. And probably some to the Tate to acquire some new works that interest me.

Give some to my sister, parents and grandparents and put some away for my niece and nephew.

I work two jobs so I'd give up the part time one. Probably keep the day job until I decided what I wanted to do, but take an unpaid break and maybe go travelling for a while

I would sit down with a nice cup of tea and some tranquilisers to stop me panicking. I would begin to write a list of all the people I want to give some money to. Once I've told my children they can decide where they want to go on holiday and live. Anywhere they go I go too. I would book myself and a friend into a spa hotel for a couple of days and enjoy the hydrotherapy and massages. Once I'm back from my holiday and settled into my new home I would look at how best to occupy myself,maybe a small business,I've always fancied owning a florists and I can employ a couple of people. I would ask a man friend to accompany me to Italy,maybe on a driving holiday. Lastly I would go to Battersea dogs home and find myself a couple of dogs for company.

No I kinda think the same! I enjoy what I do and it gives my life a bit of structure. I'd maybe try and take a sabbatical for a year or something but not pack it in entirely.

Simply no complete fuck ups, not done any great acts, but maybe want to start a business, a school, help people...

I had an American girlfriend once in China & at Christmas time she organised a thing for all the Americans in Shanghai to come and visit sick children and buy them Christmas presents.

She was over subscribed and the presents that people bought were out of this world!

She put that together:

A. Because she thought it would be fun and be something to do.

B. She could and she could use her influence to encourage people to come.

As it turned out, too many wanted to come, the money spent was phenomenal!

And she ended up in tears for about 2 days after, just randomly crying....

But I was so fucking impressed, it will never leave me!

I would donate 80% of it to my local hospital. in the subsequent press conference i would ask why every other wealthy mother fucker doesn't do the same? Is it so important to them that they remain filthy rich while normal people suffer on waiting lists? I suppose it would be easy for me as i wouldn't be used to the money like they are. Bless them...

Would be amazing to win the lottery but It would freak me out to win such a huge amount of money. A few million would suit me, less chance of begging / threatening letters and wouldn't feel the need to move out of the area I like living in.

I would also keep it quiet as humanly possible, carry on working for a while until I suss out a plan of action.
