I used to use sodium chlirate based killer before they banned it (it was easy to turn into an explosive). I generally use stump killer now, seems to work better at keeping persistant s at bay than anything else I've used in the past.

To be honest I hate gardening. I'm thinking about digging my lawn up and just gravelling the whole thing!...

not far from iceland,,,,,, tescos is nearer though :-) (near leeds)

Anything that contains glyphosate.. Either spray or you can get the sticks you dab on the s, do it when its dry and sunny kills the down to the root.

Bloody size of my lawns and amount of s I'd be dabbing for months...spray sounds much better

If you spray your lawn you'll kill that too. Have you tried a lawn feed and seed yet?

Careful near other plants...It'll kill them as well, wear gloves and if you get it on your skin wash it off straight away.

Yes but didn't work and I know you can buy the killer that doesn't kill lawns as I've used them previously ut those damn s keep c9ming back.

That must be really frustrating. Tbh, our lawn is a bit of a state and we really must do something about it. Maybe we'll take the advice of ripping it up and getting it relaid when we have the major makeover done in a few weeks

If I had the spare cash I'd get them all done but I don't so the killer route is my best choice for now .Or just grow them all as wild gardens
