Titz Towers, North Notts

I'm pretty chuffed my car has passed its' MOT, but gobsmacked that I've done 4,000 miles this year.

Most of that is going to Leeds (150 mile round trip), Pink Punters (200 miles round) and various local gigs.

What sort of annual mileage does everyone else clock up?

First year with my car I did 17k. 2nd year it was about 12/13 and this year i'm probably gonna do about 10.

Will MOT it and give it back

At the height of business success we had, I was doing in excess of at least 25k

So much hassle juggling company cars about to make sure we kept excess mileage charges to a minimum.

Hinckley

Mrs JFL has just traded her company car in and had done just under 150k miles in 3 years.

MAMOBA, miles and miles of bugger all (Aberdeenshire)

This last year, I did about 15k... but as my car got written off today... that will be a bit quieter over the next few weeks til the insurance is sorted, and I source a new car (other driver fully at fault, ran into me in a petrol station when I was parked)

Gutted as I loved my beetle.

Were you gobsmacked because you think 4,000 is a lot or because you thought you'd done a lot more?

In the world of motor insurance 4,000 miles per annum is considered small potatoes.

Was doing around 40,000 a year for a couple of years back in the 90s...thankfully these days it's back to a far more sensible 12 to 15k.

Manchester Area

(M) from 2005 -2010 was doing 50k per year and went through 3 company cars (admittedly one was the result of a write off when a back tyre blew on the motorway.)

Past 5 years its been a more sedate 40k a year

Derby

The first year after I passed my test, just over 35,000. Since then never less than that. The most I've done is 67K in a year. Worked out that I've driven over a million miles since I passed my test.

Never had an accident.

Get a new works van every two years, never gone back with less than 120k on the clock and I am not even a driver I am a chippy lucky if I get three hours work done a day.

Well up until a couple of years ago.

Now my current role I do about 30k which is a piece of piss.

Seem to spend my entire life either on the a3 or a27.

I used to do 50,000 miles a year. Buy a car, run it into the ground, get another. Nowadays, I am down to about half that and my Rover 75 just keeps on going
