"He reportedly turned down the offer of £125,000 from a charitable organisation to give a twenty minute speech since they wouldn't meet his demand for £330,000. Ironically the theme of the speech was 'How to feed the world's poor'. And of course it also begs the question what the he'll is a charity doing paying out a fee of that size. You couldn't make it up as the saying goes ??" Blair's appearance would have attracted 'bigger fish' to the donations table and, in any case, Blair has a history of passing the fee for such events onto charity.

"Of course you have to ask why Blair hasn't accepted the traditional offer of a peerage since departing as PM (the only other exception being Major). ...... " And Gordon Brown.

"Now that he's finished being Grand High Poobah for world peace in the Middle East, it's only logical that he aims for the Papacy" Or the new president of Fifa, sure he would like to get his grubby hands on some of that corrupt money.

"Of course you have to ask why Blair hasn't accepted the traditional offer of a peerage since departing as PM (the only other exception being Major). ...... And Gordon Brown. Brown was an MP until the end of this parliament So?" So... you can't sit in both the House of Commons and of Lords. Tony Benn fought to have his peerage removed so he could continue sitting in as an MP, for instance.

"Tells you everything you need to know about Blair" This. It's just amazing that so many people were fooled for so long. Always knew he was a self-serving charlatan, even from before his time as PM.

Clearly not - he remained in Parliament and is blocked, for instance, to the Order of the Garter by Blair.

I, like you, have no idea what you're talking about re Order of the Garter.

"Lol - don't get tetchy! The Order of the Garter is the the sovereign's gift and is traditionally bestowed upon retiring PM. As with the peerage, Blair refused to take it, blocking Brown. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Order_of_the_Garter And besides, Brown *chose* to stay in Parliament until the end of this session. " IF Blair refused it, how did that 'block' Brown? As for 'tetchy', I tend to get tetchy when contributors quote Wiki (or the Tory press) instead of thinking for themselves.

"I wouldn't want to listen to anything he had to say even if he paid me to listen. Nothing but a selfish lying thief who courted powerful union barrows to rise through the ranks of his party supported by other equally devious cohorts." What do you reckon he's stolen?

"Of course you have to ask why Blair hasn't accepted the traditional offer of a peerage since departing as PM." Because that would have meant kneeling before the Queen. Clearly he couldn't bring himself to do that.

Blair's Guilty conscience supporting the Legion considering what he got our troops into in Iraq don't you think?
