Hereabouts

The rubber feet things on my crutches are well and truly fucked. I didn't realise until the metal poked through today. Boots and tesco don't have the replacement feet so I've got to come up with something to temporarily fix them until Monday when I can order some online.

Don't have any duct tape, only sellotape.

I have cardboard which I could probably cut to size and sellotape it all to fill the hole at the bottom.

Any ideas as to anything else I could try?

I'm going out early tomorrow so I can't go to the shops to buy anything.

Any old flip flops? They're not that durable for long term weight bearing use, but would have a softening effect, and take some of the impact. Otherwise, an old doormat - those thin foot wipe mats, that are like cheap bits of carpet, could help too.

I was thinking flip flops but I don't actually own any

I've shoved cardboard in the hole and taped it up as much as I can so hopefully it will work. Might be a bit wonky but it's better than sliding around the floor leaving dents!

Someone suggested popping up to the hospital to ask them to change them for me but the bit I'd need to go to is closed now. There are probably care homes around somewhere but I'm not sure where.

Thanks for your suggestions, shows how unimaginative I am lol. I'll give them a go. It's only gotta last a few hours tomorrow and then I can just order some on Monday, I don't think I'm going anywhere important next week.

Squash ball might fit ok if you have them lying around. Any decent leisure centre will also sell them.

Make sure you don't get the red spit ones though. Those ones go to fast

Use a thin rubber one and melt it on?

Bit of cork - or a cork from a wine bottle - hold it in place with glue, then wrap black tape around neatly - always have black tape handy - its always handy to keep black tape on you, you never know when you're going to need it, or for what purpose!!
