Blackpool is definitely tacky but I dont mind that at times, something out of the ordinary isnt it, I expect tackiness in Blackpool too.

I hated Salou, absolutely hated it, wanted to come home within 2 hours of being there

For actual holidays have loved every where we have been with one exception.

Dominican Republic. What they say about it being the poor man’s Caribbean is definitely true, and we will not be going back.

We love the Caribbean in general though, just the Dom Rep that lets the side down.

However, if we are not talking about holidays and just nights away - We did have a weekend in Blackpool at a swingers club last year. It was dirty, tacky and generally horrid, BUT the swinging was good so does that count as somewhere we enjoyed? lol

Kos...only caters for the Brits!!! Didn't fly four and a half hours to find every restaurant serving all day breakfast - I could have gone to Margate for that!!!

There is something about the typical british seaside holiday that I love. Every year as kids we went to a caravan site in Skegness. We had a great time. Went to Blackpool a lot too, again loved it.

Its when you get older and expect much more, when it doesnt turn out to be what you expect, thats when the disappointment sets in I think.

A lot of people wont go to British seaside resorts now, they feel they need to up the ante and be more classy etc, but a lot of holidays resorts in the med are just like Blackpool and Skegness, but with sun.

I havent had a beach holiday for 3 years - It wouldnt bother me going back to Blackpool, Skegness or Clacton though.

Benidorm, but I hated it.

Its tacky, full of british everything, and full of pissed English 16 year olds.

However, the old town was beautiful. Haven't been in over 15 years, so don't know what its like now.

Just like Blackpool but with sun. However, I adore Blackpool. Lots and lots of memories from my childhood.

Has to be Pontins in Southport, it was free but that did'nt soften the blow! shit hole!!! checked in at 4.30pm we were on our way home at 5pm!

Agree with the other posts about Blackpool, great childhood memories but still go there every year to see the lights, even though when I get there, always say "im not coming here again!"

Also Rhyl, I don't think there is a word in the dictionary to describe the state of that place!

SHEFFIELD

We went for a family holiday at Pontins in Yarmouth. It was a crap hole! I can see the silverfish running around in the light fittings now.... The next year we went to Florida for a simular cost! Happy Days

I think they pulled Pontings down not long after that...

Malia in Crete was pretty bad, I wouldnt stay in that resort, but the rest of Crete is fab and I do love the Greek islands. I wish I could have two holidays a year, I always go to New York, I cant give it up, I love that city, but the downside is that I cant afford to go to the greek islands for two weeks in addition to NYC.

I did so love my blackpool weekend though

The taxi drivers are the best people in New York, they are barking mad. This year I had a great conversation with one who was in love with Susan Boyle, asked if I knew her, they think cos Im British that I know every British person. A close second are the Statue of Liberty Impersonators, usually found at the entrance of Central Park or at the ferry going over to Liberty Island, they are mime artists but very freaky with it.

I love New York, I have been going for a few years now and never get sick of it. It has its tacky side of course with lots of cheap keychains and empire state building models with king kong having off them, but I love the seedy dark side of NYC

First went on a stag do so after 3 in the afternoon couldn't care what it looked like

Last time I was there was to run this years half marathon - at 9 in the morning it looks awful, dilapidated and in need of some investment

Reckon it must have the highest density of shell suits per head if anywhere in the uk

Leysdown, Isle o Sheppey. Used to go when we were nippers and it's still just as tacky today - almost deliciously so - pure nostalgia.

Mind there are some beautiful walks down that way too.

Clacton-on-sea. But the funny thing is we have been a few times. Clacton during the day is ok. We go for the company and friends we have in the area.

The clubs I have been to were rank. One the carpet was so dirty it had gone totally smooth and your shoes stuck to it as you walked across it. Was on the dance floor when i trod on something. Looked down to see what it was a dirty tampon.
