Police have confirmed that at least 15 drivers are to be prosecuted for taking pictures of a four-lorry pile-up on their mobiles.

The crash took place on the A14 at Histon, Cambridgeshire, in the early hours of this morning and left two people hospitalised.

One of the lorries involved was carrying nearly eight tonnes of teddy bears and the pile-up caused major disruption in the area.

Cambridgeshire Police said in a statement that several motorists were snapping pictures of the scene with their phones while they drove past - and they now all face charges.

Too fucking right

I drive 75% on the motorway and if there's ever any incidents on the opposite carriageway for example. people always slow down as they go past, pisses me right off!!

I remember when I was a kid a lorry tipped over carrying tons of toy car wheels - all the kids in the area were collecting them for weeks and it was a great competition to see who had the most - these were the days before video games!

So they aren't being charged with photographing the accident, they are being charged with careless driving I am guessing? I don't believe that there is any law against photographing accidents, just doing it while driving?

'Damm I missed the chance to get a picture for FB', really do we need to see and read about every aspect of everyone daily life.

Good glad they are getting done, but a fine and points won't stop them.
