Techie phone/whatsapp question?

...Up on the Downs

I broke my glass on a Samsung S3 Mini, had the glass and LED replaced, and since then whatsapp keeps blacking the screen out - when I play voice recordings or take whatsapp phone calls. The phone will not respond to anything when this happens, until the other person disconnects.

Any idea why? I had the screen replaced a second time and reinstalled whatsapp a couple of times too?

A quick google and it's not just happening to you. I'll leave something i found.

Reset default app settings for your freezing app. Go to Main Menu - Settings - Apps - All - Select the app - Clear Defaults. Terminate background syncrhonization service for the app as showed in this guide*. Do install an Antivirus app to make sure your phone is free of virus, malicious apps.

Why this site doesn't let you use angle brackets lol, that looked all cluttered.

My Whatsapp has always done that on my Windows Phone. I am constantly having to do a hard boot to use Whatsapp.

I'm no tech wizard, did it do this before your screen replacement?

Idk, the shop you had it repaired will probably be willing to help you out coz it will prove they haven't damaged your phone. I suspect they have accidently damaged your phone though, or if you did it by post damage could have happened in transit.

No didn't do it before, but they have redone the work to no avail. They are adamant it is a software problem now and suggest restoring to factory settings but that sounds a pain!
