"As an 18 year old I was awoken to crippling stomach pains, ended up in A&E where I was advised by a doctor to stand and bend over the bed. Me being trusting thought nothing of it, perhaps this position relieves the pain. But no, unbeknown to me 3 or 4 junior doctors had proceeded to lube up a finger and took it in turns to put said finger up my arse. Apparently its to check your appendix. Strangely though the event hasnt scarred me and these days one is quite partial to the odd finger." Have to say that this falls very soundly within the sphere of malpractice - explicit (pardon the pun) permission must be obtained from any conscious and lucid patient before any kind of internal examination. On the other hand - I'd be quite happy to find myself in such a position as long as all the doctors were women.

To be honest I didnt look behind me, could have been the hospital porter and his mates for all I know

It's when they're checking you with a finger and you realise that they've got both hands on your shoulders that you need to worry.
