Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Don't leave it to the last minute. I always do then its a mad rush getting everything together.

Get someone to proof read it.

Put together a cv but don't go into too much detail otherwise people get bored. Use bullet points and type it rather than write it, it looks more professional. Good luck

Think of the goal at the end of the day, keep focused and grit your teeth and with luck you'll get what you want!

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Decide what you want to do. Blah applications look just that and waste everyone's time.

Good luck.

"Hide under a duvet and pray that the rest of the world fucks right off. "

That seems to be the current approach!

But I've no idea! So how do you decide?! That's my problem really!

Are you looking for a job or a career? Go for something that makes you happy and don't give up.

What have you done before? What are you good at? What do you enjoy doing? Are you qualified for anything?

It’s critical to present your application material in an articulate but concise way. Before you send off any job application, step away from it, clear your head, and then check it over later with fresh eyes. If appropriate, have someone independent read it over as well.

Take the time to actually read the job description. Can you see yourself doing this job? What could you bring to it? And for heavens sake don't just write exactly the same on every application form. You can tell if someone clearly is not bothered.

When you find something you like the look of, have a look at the skills they want and write your CV/application accordingly, demonstrating when you've used those skills previously, be it in work or everyday life.

Good luck.

Depending upon your previous experiences and maybe a little about what you want to do?

Then put together a good CV.

Upload it to many of the online job sites (make it available to view)

And start applying from online.

Mainly you just apply to something you see and like by submitting your CV and maybe a small application to fill in.

But this starts to go out to the various agencies and if they like you they will maybe contact you about the job you applied for but also keep your CV, as it is a cutting edge world for these recruiters so they want the best people they can find.

Good luck and hopefully something comes of it soon.

i wouldnt advise uploading to online job vacancies unless you redact some of your private info from your cv

unless you want to be pestered to death by scams and tele marketing and universal jobmatch is terrible at that crap

as the op is 29 they should have some idea of what they want to do or is interested in doing

however may have children in the back ground which means a part time job

Completly agree about not including private info.

I have never had my address on any CV, and I just created a new 'jobs' email account so everything goes in that address.

But I would like to counter your point on scams and tele marketing.

I all the time I was doing it, I never got any scams through and most calls were related to jobs anyway.

With everything online, you have to show caution.

But I wouldn't not do it (and if my circumstances changed again, I would be straight back online to post my updated CV)

All we can do, is offer our thoughts, suggestions and help to the OP just as you have done.

Hopefully the OP, finds something if interest in these replies to help out.
