Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Do you leave a hotel at check out time or push the envelope and leave just that bit later?

What other things do you push the boundaries to get extra time etc.?

Washing up liquid. I always add a bit of water to the last bit to make it go further

Kind of, I usually send someone down and get them to bring lots of fruit or I drag myself down just before they stop serving. Then I go back and let the food settle before showering etc. Typically I always vacate a room an hour late, my record however stands at 3 hours post checkout time

My mother used to split a new bottle, putting half in the old bottle and adding water.

That is pretty impressive.

The first time the ex and I stayed at a hotel he pushed it to an hour and I was feeling really anxious.

the first couple of times I did too but I soon lost that. Now I drop a call to reception asking sweetly what time breakfast closes then I drop in a remark about checking out and in the spirit of customer service I'm told that it's ok if I leave late

I don't bother with all that malarkey, I just leave the bottle upside down, sauce bottles as well

Depends where I am.

What hotel it is.

What time I have to back.

I stayed in an apartment hotel touted as "luxury" a few weeks back.

It was nice to be fair.. But the bed was fucking diabolical.

I couldn't wait to get out.

It was a small bed.

They tried to fit to much in the room.

It had a sofa on the end of the bed.

The concept was an "apartment" in the room.

It had a kitchen and everything.

I'd hate that. I book apartments to have separate rooms for each function.

I even got an extra en suite bedroom at the one I stayed at in Newcastle. I should have had the social in my apartment.

It's an apartment chain called Premier Apartments. I've used them a few times now. When I travel alone or I'm working away from home a lot it gets tedious eating out on my own. An apartment with a living room and kitchen just makes it better. They're great and better value than most 3 star hotels and the usual chains.

I'm getting quotes for £325 per night here.

I have never paid more than £70 in three different cities. Use one of the search companies and then contact them directly asking for that price. They state they will always be cheaper than booking through a search company.
