Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I prefer dogs to cats but I had a cat for over twelve years. I loved her but I didn't like her. I love and like our family dog, except when he gets his nose up my skirt or rolls in fox scat.

"

why do they do that

I have a greyhound that rolls in anything that smells, fox crap is his fave but he's also not adverse to rotting animal carcasses such as the odd deaf rat we may find on our travels

I have raised 3 generations of Border Collies, sadly I can't have a dog here due to where I live, but would definitely love to have another one. They're great company and I love taking them for long walks, pub stop included of course

dogs do give unconditional love, no matter what I look like they don't give a shit, they don't care if I'm made up or if I've just got out of bed supporting a hangover looking like the creature from the black lagoon

some dogs have had a real shirty life yet they are still willing to love humans

Our old dog was great for knowing when you were ill or unhappy and just coming and sitting beside you. We had her from a pup and as a grand old lady she transferred that caring protection to the new born human in the pack.

My cat was 18 or 19 when he died. I'd known him half my life. He really was part of the family. Seems strange to people who haven't been in that position who think it's just a pet but they are like your flesh and blood.

You build up such a bond and connection with them. When you lose them it is devastating I'm glad I don't have any pets at the minute. The thought of having to go through that loss again at some point is too much.

My labrador is very much like that, when my daughter came out of hospital after having her hysterectomy she was very down and he just seemed to know, he used to lay by her side constantly, I used to try and get her up as she would just lay in bed for days and I could see her sinking into a depression when I did he would put his head over her and look at me as if to say leave her alone

they can be very sensative to your moods
