Out of the three (and I'm loathed to say this) the Titty.

The VW and BMW have too many known issues that should be recalls but the manufacturers are ignoring the faults. The Titty is better built.

The TT may look a little dated but it's solidly built with no major issues.

a lot of VW's (especially the Golf based ones) have a serious problem with the engine mounts. The BMW's suffer with rear brake issues and the subframes cracking. The 6-cylinder engines have some horrific mechanical issues too. All should be recalls but aren't.

Avoid the BMW 1 like the plague.

I've heard nothing good about them. The 3 and 5 series ate still great cars though.

I'd personally choose the Audi

Bmw nice if its the 1 series coupe... looks like baby 3 series. Vw and Audi should be reliable guess it's down to how much space you need as scirocco looks like it has more room in the back

A little spooky as those are exactly the three cars we test drove and looked at last Sunday .

We opted for a white 2.0 turbo diesel scirocco, got a good deal with the VW garage we used last time.

Hi you do realise this is a brand new car she's talking about?? Iv not heard of any engine mount issues with the vw's that you have mentioned, the rear subframe issue was with the e46 m3 not heard of any on the newer ones. Do you have anymore info on these issues?? And the only issue iv heard of with the engines in bmw's is the 2.0 diesel timing chain issues.

P.s there is a brand new TT out now.

Don't think I can be much help as I wouldn't go for any of those myself.

But then, i'm into my Yanks, so my list would include cars like the new Mustang (of which the entire UK allocation for this year has already been sold), Chevy Camaro (new model out next year) or Dodge Challenger - to name just three

I know you said you're after one of those cars specifically and if you're choosing German I get that too but to throw something into the mix with cost in mind the Peugeot RCZ is a good alternative in my opinion. Just though I'd put it out there, good luck with your hunting.

"The TT may look a little dated but it's solidly built with no major issues."

You are joking right?

3 years ago I had one for a company car.

It was BRAND NEW literally.

It had 27 miles on the clock when I signed for it.

That car was the biggest bag of bollocks I've ever had.

I was in my last job for nearly 6 years, and had at least a dozen company cars.

That was the worst of the lot.

My boss used to buy them himself.

And he said never ever again.

About 3 of us had one each.

Everyone of them had anti - roll bar issues or whatever it is.

Airbag lights. (About 5 times)

Horrible cars.

To be fair most cars suffer with airbag lights, it's usually down to passengers putting things under the passenger seat and disconnecting the plugs under the seat. Two minute fix and not a fault with the car. ARB's are usually caused by the state of our roads and affects most cars with low suspension and big wheels.

I wouldn't say that was something different just in my street there's 9 houses with evoque's in the drives! They're everywhere here but then again Wales is hilly and lots of farms so 4X4's are common.

I've had my BMW 1 for 3 years and I love it ! 55k and not a single snag. I'll be sorry to see it go when the contract ends in August so I hope the 4 series replacement will be just as reliable.
