your meet's pad

Any sexism at play? On going to a meet, would you expect a single female's or guy's place to be cleaner, more stylish etc?

I know none of us will enter or remain in a filthy hovel, but curious whether there are different levels of expectations by gender etc.

Well I guess I'd expect anyone to be as clean as possible regarding the gender, however it is true that, stereotype die hard, I would think women are cleaner than men... generally speaking.

It us not always the case as I have seen.

But to play along with your thread ^_^

Subconscious sexism would initially tell me to expect the female 'pad' to be cleaner but real life experience tells me there's no such thing. Some guys are miticulously clean and tidy freaks, like myself, pretty sure I have more than a touch of the OCD about me. Back to the question I definitely wouldn't expect anything gender specific. Style is a matter of taste, there's a flower theme around our place and people are convinced it's Mrs N's influence when in fact it's mine.

An orange candle burning in my bathroom decided to burst last night, oozing its molten load across and down everywhere in its vicinity. I broke some pieces off but decided to leave the rest overnight, to clear and clean when cold. So felt a bit of a messy slacker when confronted with it this morning. There was no meet planned thank goodness.

Whichever gender has kids living at home still, i expect their home to be messiest.

I assume, like most people, you expect a woman's home to be clean and tidy and a mans to be a tip! Not always the case, I myself am very clean and organised..... In fact my apartment is so clean and tidy some of my meets never believe I'm single?

I'm not sure women are cleaner than men but maybe more house proud. . Women like nice things, they have a seat sense of style when it comes to decor, furnishings, the outlay of their house etc.

Where as us guys would rather have nice motors etc.

How does that sound?

My friend, a taurean, had what appeared superficially a lovely clean home. Her cupboards and off limits areas though were revolting. If she had had a brush and rugs, she would have swept it all underneath, As long as the top looked ok.

Its easy to be taken in by stereotypes. My closest female friends loathe housework and do it very lightly.

I don't know why we would think women are cleaner as a sexist perception . .. I'd have thought a clean organised home plays into the hands of male traits .

Now I wonder if what you say is a modern thing , for the last what 50 odd years if you expected your wifie /girlfriend to be able to cook clean and look after herself that would be considered sexist,

Mind you, my mother was what we called " house proud" back in the day , I fear now a days that would be , violent OCD . But certainly effected my view on what is and isn't liveable , my flat looks like no one lives there.

Ive come across a few guys who expect the women to do everything. Guess they went from mummy to substitute mummy, after leaving home. Dinosaurs of course.
