Adult colouring in books were relaxing blooming well told fibs!!

Talk about the stress of trying to keep in the lines. Started out with fine tipped felt pens then abandoned that and went onto using pencils..

Any of you lot tried them or enjoy colouring in?

I love it and have been doing mental masturbation for years.

I've started on the colouring in book I was given as a birthday present.

Staying in the lines helps you focus on that and not worry about all the other things going on in your life.

I have one. It's something I'm trying to help me clear my head and unwind.

It is quite relaxing until the cats decide to "help", or decide they want the attention I'm paying to the book.

OP, I've also got a pixel book. It's stupidly expensive but you stick blocks (pixels) onto a grid to make pictures.

makes me think of sequin art and using pins to put them into a polysytrene model

or the black pictures that youve got to scrape away the surface to reveal a silver/gold/bronze picture

Im a generally arty person quite often making collages etc with nipper and my job means im doing creative things but these adult colouring books are a test.

could be im not in the right frame of mind for it at the moment

Pencils? Yeah, cool.

Felt tips? The only ones that I've used that can produce a decent job are hideously expensive (and you need to colour in long, even strokes.

The pictures i colour in are really detailed so a normal width felt pen would look messy..

ive since opted to fill the image with 'mark making' or doodles.. in bright colours it looks mint

did art at GCSE and got an A but it killed my love for art, i hated forced deadlines and my work was rushed

You can get a really good choice of colouring books for grown ups.

My daughter(age 18) and I enjoy a bit of colouring in every so often - we use coloured pencils.

The only kind of art I'm really any good at
