Titz Towers, North Notts

This is almost as subjective as asking who is the best footballer ever.

In no particular order, but only counting those still working,

Daniel Kitson, Ross Noble and a bit of a wildcard entry, The boy with tape on his face.

How many people here go to local comedy nights?

There have been a lot of famous names mentioned, but at the local level, doing pub gigs to 20 people, there are a host of up and coming comics - Jake Lambert, Jon Pearson and Graham Milton who are all really talented.

John Bishop (OK, but I get the feeling he's being forced onto us by the BBC).

Jo Brand (two jokes, neither of which are funny).

Stuart Francis and Tim Vine. (Completely wooden and just recite stuff they learned from a book of corny jokes).

"Way to hard to choose so I'll go top 3 of who I've seen live:-

Micky Flanagan

Jason Manford

Eddie Izzard"

Loved early Izzard.

Tim Minchin

Lee Mack is razor sharp

Early Eddie Murphy

Lee Evans

Lots more.

But can I just say this without appearing misogynistic...No women have proven to be funny over time.

I have no idea why, but it may be something to do with their delivery. Even Sarah Millican (whose delivery I like) is only humorous with occasional LOL moments.

I would gladly be proven wrong here

"Roy Chubby Brown ,

Went to see him twice years ago and regretted the second time, not funny and relies on swearing to make himself funny(which he isn't)

And he couldn't even come back with quick witty remarks to put down hecklers instead he got his security to shut them up or throw them out"

seen him in Blackpool 2 years ago walked off stage when 3 Scottish lads started to heckle him,had them thrown out before he came back on stage, not the same as he was

"I think the top 3 best comedian are

1. Russel Howard

2. John Bishop

3. Frankie Boyle"

John Bishop is not remotely funny. I have problems trying to fathom out how he keeps appearing on television and on stage.

I hate his face. I loathe his walk. I detest his voice. I am irritated by his slow sound bite and his unfunny stories that any woman or bloke tells in the pub or to a few workmates.

I can't handle the fact he pretends to hail from Liverpool.

He's not just unfunny he's embarrasing.

I'll come back with some women that I like in a minute and maybe some I don't like too.

There's a reason why you can't recall women though and you might or might not like the explanation.

Back in a bit.

"Jimmy Carr was brilliant if your not to pc"

Being P.C. is why I find him funny.

Take away offence and most of his act has gone.

Pushing boundaries is why I like him.

I was not offended by the joke he made and had to apologise for. I did sort of want him to refuse but I guess if you want mainstream airtime you have to be a good boy and pretend to be sorry.

Most funny people are so funny and political and irreverant that mainstream T.V. wouldn't air them.

The planet is being slowly sanitised.

You daren't show your true humour here or you'd be poofed by a.....I nearly said poofter then. Ninja.

I don't find her funny.

She is a good ventriliquist. Maybe i've seen the helpless human dummy too many times over the decades.

Funny female comediennes -

Rivka Uttley, Robyn Perkins and Erika Benning. They are all up and coming, not famous at all. In fact I don't think any are getting paid work, but give them time and they'll get there.

Due to harrassment i'm posting this now instead of having time to mull it over.

For the record Sara Millican is NOT funny nor is Miranda Hart nor for me is Shappi Korshandi.

But I do like :

Joan Rivers, Jo Brand, Keri Godliman, Helen Lederer, Sandi Toksvig, Ruby Wax, Gina Yashere, Rhona Cameron, Elaine C Smith, Whoopi Goldberg, Helen Degeneres, Victoria Wood, Sarah Silverman, Susan Calman, Katherine Ryan, Sara Pascoe, Lucy Porter, Josie Long, Susie Essman, Betty White, Melissa McCarthy, Andi Osho, Aisling Bea, Ava Vidal, Chelsea Handler, Alan Carr

Oops ... It's Ellen De Generes. xx

Has to be Alan carr, I like him cause he isn't that offensive and makes fun out of himself.

A lot of the comedians mentioned can't make a joke without being extremely offensive.

Bennard manning was quite funny tho, I wonder if he was racist or misunderstood, was painful seeing him telling indian racists jokes to an indian crowd in india, a pin could drop and u would here it and the crickets singing in the background.
