Nope. I can see why someone with no self confidence would find a confident profile intimidating. It is only a problem if that is the sort of person you want to attract.

And contrary to everyone else's experiences I think that most people do at least skim read profiles .....if you make them more than a shouty rant with a list of do's and don'ts. I get a lot of messages that start with "I know you aren't looking for. ..."

It's a challenge and normally makes for good banter.

What I do object to, are excessive lists and demanding profiles, that basically say "mail me and I'll kill you"...

You may as well post "if anyone uses my pics/text I'll tell my mum".

Really don't understand how people can be intimidated by words or pictures.

Nobody is better than anyone and people shouldn't think that anyone is better than them. If you message someone saying you're intimidated you're making yourself look like some meek, wimpy, hanging looking buzzard. Nobody intimidates me whether that's looks, body, mind or strength.

Nobody should feel intimidated by anyone, we all bleed and we all can be killed.

No, it arises from a tiny insecurity that someone that you have met might not have been 100% confident that they would be as physically in shape as you.

I haven't looked at their profile but I'm sure that little bit of worry was unfounded and that you, as a gentleman, understand that most ladies have small imperfections.

With the exception of the last paragraph, your profile appears honest, is well written, and you have some very good photographs that back up what you have included in it.

For the record, I always read profiles and the person's interests.

I don't get intimidated, just put off.

It's a fine line between attracting the people want and putting off the people you don't want. Many profiles opt for the latter. The danger is that you're too successful in your efforts and then, by some, you're seen as intimidating.

It's not what you say, it's the way that you say it.

I'm not sure intimidating is the right word. To me you come across from your posts and profile as strident and strong willed. That leads me to be less likely to enter into banter with you on the forum or make a throw a way remark to your posts. Does that mean I'm intimidated by you? Possibly!! Or am I just adjusting my behaviour according to the person I'm addressing?

To the OP: I wouldn't worry about it. If your profile reflects who you are it will attract the sort of people who like who you are. Why even give a second thought about those who don't like it for whatever reason; they're not for you anyway.
