But men and women in all other professions are always faithfull thank god.

There have been a number of footballers named as cheating on partners, I am not sure but this could be something to do with them being in the public eye and celebrities, there have been the same revelations about a few actors and other celebrities over the years (golfer Tiger Woods) boxers even athletes.

Being a footballer doesn't make them unfaithfull you just get to hear about it every time it becomes known to the media, it invokes a reaction, it sells papers.

I can name lots of footballers who do not bring themselves thier families or the game into disrepute, a lot more than I can name for the opposite

It's supply and demand I'm afraid. When companies such as Sky are willing to pay a fortune for TV rights to the matches it follows suit that the player's agents will recognise that need and negotiate the best deal they can get for the players on their books.

As an indication of how good these players really are, go and watch a Sunday morning league match locally and you'll see just how bad those guys are yet they would still run circles around an armchair football fan who never kicks a ball from one month to the next. Permiership stars and in a universe of their own in terms of skill levels and I guess that has to be worth something. Plus the fact that most player's playing careers are over by the age of 35 so it's hardly surprising that they have to maximise their earnings while they can. I don't begrudge them the money as I wouldn't turn down a salary of £200k/week either, but it will break the game eventually. All the FA have to do is introduce new rules that say a club has to operate within it's financial means and clubs like Man Utd will suddenly find themselves in serious trouble with an £800m debt mountain it can't get rid of.

Never liked Rooney. Over hyped and when he mouthed off to the cameras at the World Cup, that sealed it for me.

Yes, of course, it's only Manchester United who have fans and supporters who don't live in the town of the club they follow. All Chelsea fans live in Chelsea huh? Arsenal fans in Highbury? Liverpool fans on Merseyside?

I've supported United ever since I knew what a football was. Am I from Manchester? Nope, I was born in Chelsea, but in the big scheme of things does it really matter. In fact, I enjoy being called a plastic Manc because it means my team is successful and non-MU fans are fookin pissed off that their shit team can't even come close to our record - except Liverpool, but then they could be bottom of the premiership by the time they next play on Sunday. What a lovely prospect!

Not at all. He's signed a new deal so he's a Manc Red for the time being. I can't see him seeing out the five years though as he's pissed Sir Alex off and nobody gets away with that. Maybe Alex has told him that he'll be retiring soon and won't have to put up with him for much longer - either way, one of them will go and not in five years time I suspect.
