I've just weighed in some old broken jewellery a couple of necklaces 3 rings and some odd earings was expecting about 80 quid I was gobsmacked when I was offered 730 quid

Is that over the counter cash? You get the money when you hand over the items? Or do you have to send it away first? Be careful.

I took it to a reputable dealer in Birmingham Jewellry quarter he was reccomended by the jeweler I use

You always get a better price if you take it in rather than try to sell it on line.

Last year I sent some gold off to one of the TV firms and got a cheque for £87

I very quickly told them to send it me back, the upped the offer to £340.00. I was luck I got mine back

I took exactly the same to a jewellers and got £885.00.

You have a great jeweller - gotta love the Jewellry Quarter, got such a buzz to it and it's great looking above the shop windows and seeing all the desk magnifying glasses with lights. It's like Amsterdam without the red lights or Hash. Actaully scrap that-it's a very poor imitation.

Congratulations - bet the earrings had some stones in them. Happy days
