Just been reminded of the scene in Shawshank when Andy Dufresne locks himself in the governors office and plays the opera over the PA system. A wonderful movie moment. So what is yours?

And having watched an advert with the same music as the opening scenes in Up, the first 10 mins of that movie are amazing. Why am I feeling so emotional tonight??

So many..

But who can forget that first moment in Jurassic Park when the T Rex breaks out of its compound and attacks the car.

5 mins of movie magic that had you on the edge of your seat.

The Joe Pesci scene in Goodfellas is brilliant, but when Ray Liotta takes his date through the kitchen and gets the best table in the house it is pure movie magic, simply awesome.

Watching one of my favourite chick flicks last night, Deathproof, two good moments from the film are the crash scene and the end car chase, have a look on YouTube.

.

I have to admit to being a little bit of an opera fan, the music from Shawshank is the duet from the marriage of Figaro, it's an utterly beautiful piece.

My favourite film scene also contains a wonderful piece of opera the baracolle from the tales of Hoffman.

La vita e Bella.

The scene where roberto Benigni carries his son through the fog bound concentration camp while baracolle plays through the window for his wife, strolling through the fog with his sleepy son, while glimpses of piles of bodies peer through the fog.

It exemplifies all that is bad and good with the human race in one simple scene and it never fails to bring a tear to my eye due to the beautiful music

Probably because it is a subject matter which is close to my heart, but when all the patients in When One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest escaped on their boat trip. A truly moving scene.

And there's me thinking you'd choose the scene where Tony Curtis pre-empts Kirk Douglas by stepping forward and shouting..............

Dirty Dancing

"Me? I'm scared of everything. I'm scared of what I saw, I'm scared of what I did, of who I am, and most of all I'm scared of walking out of this room and never feeling the rest of my whole life the way I feel when I'm with you"

Cry to Me by Solomon Burke plays and Baby asks Johny to dance.

Cheesy but I want to have a dance like that.

Funny how so many great scenes are accompanied by great music. Thinking of the start to Trainspotting and Reservoir Dogs, both brilliant scenes but matched with perfect music.
