Ok, so there are some words that I have difficulty in spelling correctly. There are some words I have heard of that I don't fully understand the meaning of.

If you need to embrace words and their true meaning, which do you turn to?

For me, it is a Dictionary which is always by my side. I think Lickety wore ma last one out a couple of years ago with her word of the day threads

Google, although the accuracy of wikipedia is questionable

I never need a dictionary/thesaurus nor need to refer to google for correct spellings or help with comprehension - at school I was the go-to girl for help with all things literacy related

Merriam Websters dictionary. I like that one for meanings. For spelling i just use the search bar, it'll spell stuff for me in english and not just american.

For spelling I use the Oxford or Cambridge dictionary websites. Can't trust international spelling advice.

Google helps me spell. It picks up my phonetic attempts at words really well! Much better than word or my phone spell checker.

On here, mainly the Urban dictionary. I also use a dictionary and thesaurus, for meanings or synonyms. If I know a word I generally don't need anything to help me speel it

Not bad for a septuagenarian

"Google, although the accuracy of wikipedia is questionable "

Yeah, there are some debatable descriptions of the meanings of words, or maybe sometimes the context in which they are applied?

Wikipedia is always used against me in arguments. I was led to believe it was infallible

"Wikipedia is always used against me in arguments. I was led to believe it was infallible "

It has sources at the bottom, it's better to use those sources but they are there whatever.

The last published copy of the Oxford concise dctionary sits proudly on a shelf close at hand to my desk; sadly I can't read the bloody thing, and its collecting dust, so dictionary.com is where I turn when the ms Outlook spell cheque can't be relyed on....notice that?, lol

I am sorry ladies, neither of your posts quantify you as to being able to give a half decent response to the original question
