It was an expected bereavement I must admit.

I've had the oh so obvious fake bereavement as an excuse. The more the guy told me, the more I knew it was fake.

I planned a meet bout a month ago, had to cancell, daughter was poorly, re planned for the following week, old lady i looked after died, had to cancel again, figured that was it no way I would get another chance, but I did, and went to a club together this weekend as 1st meet went so well.

some people fake things as an excuse, but not all, sorry for your loss,x

I was delaying committing to a date for a meet once because I knew I had a funeral coming up. The male of the couple then felt the need to say I clearly wasn't that upset about my cousin's death if I was meeting that week.

Tosser. Needless to say his Mrs was unimpressed when we said we'd not be meeting them at all.

i wouldnt care if i was believed or not in a situation like that. I have had to cancel a meet due to my nan dying and to be honest the last thing on my mind was whether or not some bloke i was going to fuck believed me or not, if he didnt then i wouldnt want to meet him anyway so dodged a bullet there.

Of course it happens. None of us live forever and we all have friends and relatives that are going to die at some point.

My sympathies Dave

I wouldn't really care if they believed me or not

But if it was an expected bereavement then I might have spoken about it beforehand

Yep, sorry for your loss fella. It pays to be honest at all times. I had to cancel a meet today due to a change in work plans this week but unlike your situation its annoying but everyone's happy to rearrange.

Sorry for your loss. You might not be looking for sympathy but it always improves things when you're in another's thoughts at a hard time. (In my opinion.)

Sorry for your loss but i'd unlikely believe the situation.

The number of deaths I've heard of from meets its shocking - but because of those who waste time those who are genuine then get cast with the bad brush because of those who use such awful excuses rather than the truth.

I agree with other posters in that I wouldn't care what anyone else thought. This is just a hobby, not important, just a pastime. If I can't make a date for whatever reason I tell them and then don't really give it a second thought

This happened to me a week or so ago.

Had a meet planned he messaged me to say he had to cancel due to a family emergency. I obviously didn't know what the family emergency was as I didn't ask.

I saw him on fab later that day.

Then he messaged a few days later saying he wanted to meet and o said no thanks as you fobbed me off the other day.

He then proceeded to say his gran had died.

I didn't feel bad as Iv caught him out with lies before.

Sorry for your loss... I had to cancel my Wednesday meet as I'm working late all week, to make up for wanting Xtasia weekend off at the end of the month. These things happen, real life unfortunately gets in the way from time to time.

But seriously, If my mum had just passed away the last place on earth I'd be is on here worrying about meets though.

Thanks for the condolence and im not worrying about meets as my profile is hidden and not meeting anyone. Being here is only like replying to friends on face book although I blocked you weeks ago for always being negative to my posts.

Ah yes.

Was that the one where me and about 5 others called you out on a thread for being foul and abusive to a young lad... that one?

It must have been because I've only ever commented on 3 of your threads.

If I'm on your block list I have no problem with that at all.

We've cancelled a meet and a party (same week) in the past due to a family bereavement. We know one didn't believe us by the reply we got back. The other we went on to meet at a later date.

Sorry to hear of your loss.

I have to be 100% honest and say that if I was told they couldn't meet due to a bereavement but then saw that they were online on a swinging site on and off during the day, I would be suspicious.

Not saying you're not genuine and everyone reacts in different ways, but I'd probably not be logging on to here if I had a bereavement close enough to me to make me cancel existing commitments whether swinging meets or otherwise.

I'm confused at people criticising the OP for being here after a bereavement.

When my Grandad died last year the first place I came to for support was here, there was no way I was up to meeting anyone but I wanted my fab friends to chat to and I got a lot of support from them.
