I've been speaking to alot of people on meets, and most say swinging isn't what it use to be or swinging is dead

And I totally agree

What's your thoughts and why do you think it's changed ???

I think the word is "Modernised" or "evolved".

Actually I've found the opposite to be true, the view that swinging is for couples only is outdated and no longer applies.

I've been told I'm on the wrong site for turning a couple down saying I don't think I'm ready for a threeway when in reality it was a polite way of turning them down without saying I wasn't attracted to the pushy female messaging me.

I also think that most "parties" are like a clique and mostly a business point.

And I think the whole scene isn't as taboo a hush hush private Like it use to be it's just out there and casual if that make sence unlike years back it was very underground not so main stream

Well, I don't get any luck from the contact magazines....

I send my polaroid pictures in the post with a SAE inside... and rarely get anything back..

So now I use this site and clubs!!

Funny how technology has changed this scene for the better!!

I don't think its dead - but then I don't look to meet often, and have chatted to people for a long time before actually getting to meeting.

How can it be dead? It is probably more mainstream now than at any time before.

Just because some people don't get the instant gratification that they fantasise about, does not mean that the scene is not there. It might not be there for them, but our experience is that there are far more people in this lifestyle now than there were ten years ago.

The Internet itself has revolutionised swinging. If you think it hard now for a single guy to get a meet, imagine the days of a contact mag and all you had was a picture the size of a postage stamp lol

To answer the OP question first "swinging" should be defined?

The old version is one of wife swapping that is married or committed partners exchanging those partners in a sexual environment. This still happens and people use this and other sites to procure prospective play partners. I suppose you could call it the keys in the fruit bowl era!

If you examine the make up of FAB you will instantly see that the majority of users are single guys or those purporting to be single. So is this user group really classed as swingers or just those seeking recreational sex.

My experience would suggest that swinging or recreational sex is alive and kicking in all it forms.

Perhaps the OP is looking to hard?

i don't think it is dead at all... it has changed over time, i don't think some have adapted to change well at all... i do think you get a lot more people thinking that swingers are easy... which couldn't be further from the truth

i think for a lot more people is has became more "personality" driven... which is why you get a lot of the "am i ugly?" posts where they think it is all down to looks......

it is more open than it use to be, and i dont see how thats a bad thing... and the oppotunities are there if you want to take advantage of them

I've noticed a big change just over the few years we've been swinging but it's just this site that has become more popular with the singles so the dynamics of it all have changed. Not a bad thing really.

There could be thousands of couples having parties all over the world as we speak. All fucking each others partners and having a jolly good time. Just because they don't do it from here or in clubs doesn't mean it isn't happening.

We are still fairly new to all of this so it is difficult to compare with anything! It's like anything, things change and evolve. The increased use of the Internet and other technology has HAD to have had an affect on the swinging community (and everyday life for that matter!).

We are enjoying ourselves anyhow!

It's far more ephemeral and based on instant gratification now, thanks to the internet - the irony is these things are the very same drivers / behaviours which so many denounce.

It's funny reading threads where people are lambasted for thinking it's instashag on here, then reading how folk want to be showered with attention just for a one night stand, or how they banged fifteen random people in a club and they didn't know their names.

It's a dichotomy, and it's funny watching it implode every now and again.
