Got bored, and had a read of the dictionary, as you do, and noticed these conundra.

Is there another word for synonym?

When a building is completed, why isnt it called a built?

Whose dumb idea was it to have the letter "s" in the word "lisp"?

Why has the word "monosyllabic" got five syllables?

Why is abbreviation such a long word?

Why is it so hard to remember the spelling of the word "mnemonic"?

Why is it that the word "big" is smaller than the word "little", and the words "small" and "large" are the same size?

Why is the word "synonymous" spelled differently than the word "same"?

Why isnt phonetic spelled the way it sounds?

Why do "overlook" and "oversee" mean opposite things?

Why is there no other word for "thesaurus"?

Is there another word for synonym?

no but there's an antonym

When a building is completed, why isnt it called a built?

cos it's never been properly built

Whose dumb idea was it to have the letter "s" in the word "lisp"?

the same person who put it in crisps

Why has the word "monosyllabic" got five syllables?

so u can't ask fer one with yer tea

Why is abbreviation such a long word?

same reason as "contraction"

Why is it so hard to remember the spelling of the word "mnemonic"?

sorry what was the question again?

Why is it that the word "big" is smaller than the word "little", and the words "small" and "large" are the same size?

cis little has got two ts

Why is the word "synonymous" spelled differently than the word "same"?

I "would like" to tell you, in fact I "want" to tell you but

Why isnt phonetic spelled the way it sounds?

You mean why isn't it said the way it is written?

Why do "overlook" and "oversee" mean opposite things?

You mean like overlooking the garden and whoops I overlooked the garden? Too much for me.

Why is there no other word for "thesaurus"?

It went extinct before they could find one.

Happy now?
