Hawick

I have heard there are issues with cancelling it and when I tried to look at the T&C last night it was sorry 404.

HMMMMM

I am very tempted by the free books esp as they have an author I am very keen on but the reported issues..

Anyone with hands on experience of going through the cancellation after the 30 day free trial please?

I (S) mistakenly didn't realise I had ordered it and when I realised, i rang Amazon, explained what had happened and they cancelled it straight away and refunded me the full amount there and then.

As for the 404 page, it's the internet, shit goes wrong like that all the time so don't read anything into that. It's Amazon after all.

Why don't you just buy the books you want, get them delivered for free and probably pay less than you would be ordering the Prime service just for the free stuff?

MAMOBA, miles and miles of bugger all (Aberdeenshire)

I had the trial, and loved it. Kept it on, but never had any issues with it.

Their customer service is great, and I keep tabs on how much it saves me, and each year its been well worth it!

Have heard numerous people saying they get refunded if they missed cancellation date.

Very crafty how they do this. I clicked on the free trial somehow after I'd made a purchase and then forgot I'd done it. Next thing I know bank has had £ 79 taken from my account 1 month later and I haven't even used the darn thing once.

I couldn't find anywhere on their website how to contact them. I did find a thing that apparently refunds the £ 79 if you convert your account to monthly subscription which I promptly cancelled. It remains to be seen if the money will come back into my account.

Does annoy me intensely that they can get away with this underhand selling tactic. I gave them my debit card number to buy a product off a seller and not buy some service that they are flogging by subterfuge. Good job I regularly check my bank account.

There's a live chat option... If you haven't used the Prime since you've been charged for it... They'll refund no problem..

I've had loads of free trials of it.. and forgot to cancel twice but got the money refunded easily

Yep. This happened with me. I cancelled the day after and they refunded no problem. Can't fault them

Beyond the shadows.

I signed up to prime because of the delivery. But most of the stuff i wanted was not eligible prime items so i cancelled it didn't have any issues. I've always rated Amazon's customer service, every time I've had an issue they've just sorted it for me no quibbles.

Even if you miss the cancellation date (you're able to cancel renewal before the date, so you can choose not to renew as soon as you register for a free trial), Amazon will give you a refund if it's within a reasonable time frame - you just need to ask.

If you just email them through customer service and explain you want to cancel, they will. I forgot to cancel after the 30 day trial and did it 2 days after they took £79 from my bank. I got it fully refunded.

I ended up signing up again though lol free next day delivery on purchases, saving a fortune over the 12 month membership

Romford

Why would anyone cancel?! Free books, free one day delivery, prime tv and Amazon now that even sells groceries cheaper than my corner shop?!

If Amazon was a woman, I'd be her bitch.
