What order?

(a) 1 2 3 4 5 6

or

(b) 4 5 6 1 2 3

or

(c) 4 5 6 and burn 12&3 on a fire with an effigy of George Lucas

12? Erm if your revering to which order to watch them then I would say episodes 1 through 6 in chronological order.

B. Although the prequels did suck, they have their moments. And dont take away the joy of originals.

But the real question is order of best film. Id say....

5, 4, 6, 2, 3, 1

Newcastle-under-Lyme

4 5 1 2 3 6

That way the big-daddy spoil (end of 4) isn't ruined in advance, and 3 then leads straight into 6 really well both for the L-L plotline and the Anakin redemption too.

Option C.

Although number 3 was nearly tolerable but 1 and 2 were drivel tbh

Theres some shocking discrimination against the ewoks, sure they are wee hairy primitive creatures that remind me of visiting Kirkcaldy, but thats not their fault.

so, embrace the wee furry buggers and add caravan of courage & the battle for endor to your viewing lists.

C, absolutely and unequivocally. Here's hoping Disney can do what Lucas failed, and supply a good addition the Holy Trinity!

Start with number 1.

I'm not a big fan of Jar Jar, and didn't think the Phantom Menace was as good as the originals, but I take it in context.

It is the first 'act'. The beginning of the story.

I started watching them again in the proper order about a month ago and have just got Empire and Jedi left to watch.

Forget 1 due to Jar Jar fucking binks. I'd rather cut off my own testicles than watch that cunt again.

Watch rest in chronological order. Xxx

If I were to watch them now, I'd do it in order 1-6, cause of OCD.

If I were to have a child though, I'd show them 4-6 first, then the prequels. I'd definitely leave the Clone Wars film, I barely sat through it all on the first viewing.

Well said and there were hype and pressure on esipode I and was always tough to live with the originals.

But my main concern about the new trilogy is that Disney is involved and hope they don't spoil it for the real fans especially after esipodes I-III were a bit of a disappointment tbh

This patently doesn't worry me. Why? Remember when Disney bought Marvel and all the fanboys were saying how it spelled doom for the Marvel universe? Spin forward to today and the Marvel faithf crowing over how much more succesful their movies are than DC's. That has very little to do with Marvel beyond the core characters and everything to do with the Disney bigwigs letting the right people do their jobs.

I am slowly gathering faith in the new films, especially after the reveal that the BB8 droid is a practical effect.

But the order; 4,5 (Read Shadows of the Empire), 6 (Read the Thrawn Trilogy), 1, 2, 3.

Say what you like about the prequels, there was a lot of good stuff in there alongside the poorer material.

But I'm trying not to get too excited in case of the disappointment. But the trailer with Solo and Chewbacca in it did get a smile outta me

I know what you mean. I've been a fan for years and had been pretty guarded. The first trailer was a step in the right direction, but the second (and the BB8 video that debuted around the same time) has given me what can best be described as a cautious hope.

You can't beat 4.5&6, they are classics in their own right.

But although very annoying in parts 1,2&3 do add depth to 4,5&6 when you follow the main story and forget that long eared cunt with the chicken walk

4 always start with 'a new hope'. After that the rest of the order is irrelevant lol. If your marathon fails to have to go back to the beginning aka number 4, then play the rest in a different order picking up where you left off lol

I've actually enjoyed all of them. If I was going to have a StarWars marathon, or educate someone who'd not seen any before, I would go for 1-6 in the order they were written.

I actually think that Yoda's fight scene from Clone Wars is my favourite bit of StarWars cinema.... ever....

Has to be Option A, yes the prequels are crap but there is a story there and besides if you have never seen them before then get the crap ones out of the way with the promise of better to come.

I did exactly this with my son, if you watch the prequels it ruins the big Luke /Darth reveal in empire

Exactly this, Disney got it bang on with the marvel films (so far) and after his handling of the star trek reboot JJ Abrahams is the right man for the job.

a) would appear most sensible, however from personal experience, I can confirm the following order makes no sense:

4

1

2

3

4 again

half of 5, with an episode of Coronation Street that Mrs ddc recorded over it.

6.

My son refuses to let me watch it now because *apparently* repeatedly asking "Who was he again?" is annoying

Technically they are both the same film, the Smithee version is about an hour longer and is a cut that was done for tv. Lynch wouldn't put his name to it despite it being his film.

It's actually very good and has much more of the story and a completely different opening.

Imo, I prefer the Smithee version because it's got more of the story, but it is a slower film.
