Do you check your boobs and testicles regularly?

So sad to see on the news yesterday that Rebecca Ellison, Rio Ferdinand's wife had died from breast cancer at the age of 34. Leaving 3 young children behind. My thoughts are with them all.

My father died of cancer (bowel, so it was unusual for someone so young) at the same age.

I check my boobs monthly for bumps and lumps, and general appearance. My grandmother, only realised something was wrong when one of her nipples went inverted, she survived it.

Do you check yourself regularly?

We both check ourselves and each other on a regular basis. It's quite a sensual, as well as sensible, thing to do.

My balls are checked on a daily basis when I shave them

However at the age when I was probably most at risk of testicular cancer I wasn't really aware enough to be doing it regularly. I remember frightening myself when I first started checking them because I had no idea how the vas deferens made one ball feel different to the other and I thought I had a lump. I looked up some testicular anatomy before panicking and realised what it was.

Yep, every week in the bath. I've had 2 friends that have lost a testicle to cancer, luckily they're ok.

Away with the fairies (Liverpool to you)

I check my boobs regularly and as I have various cysts and lumps (already checked out by the specialist) it gets quite interesting

My husband checks himself on a regular basis.....possibly he enjoys doing that a little more than he should

Having had cancer it's a ritual of mine to check myself at least once a week and always prompt a few of my good mates to do so too.

Everybody should read up on what to check as it truly is a matter of 'better to be safe than sorry' !!

yup, and just as well, 1st lump was harmless, 2nd 1 needs a biopsy.

I think I got off lightly, just losing a testicle.

Breast cancer runs in my mums side of the family and were told from a young age to check them. Recently had an auntie that passed away from cancer that had spread from her breasts and into her bones, She couldn't walk in the back end from how severe it got.

Ladies remember to check your breasts when not on your monthlies as they are prone to changes then
