Best TV Signature Tune

Jump to newest

I mentioned theme tunes in the Quantum Leap thread. I think that's the best one in any US tv series.

What does everyone like?

My all time favourite is Grandstand. Maybe absence makes the heart grow fonder? It was really funny when Chris Evans used to do 'Grandstand timpani' on Virgin Radio. He would play it and callers had to say 'bonnnnnngggggg' at the right moment!

My favourite kids TV theme is without question Jossy's Giants. Classic, and a good serial too - written by Sid Waddell, the darts commentator.

in the night garden

Theme from Hong Kong Phooey

Mr. Men and also Mr. Ben music always makes me smile. I have a very interesting and erratic (not erotic) dance I like to do to Mr. Ben's music.

Buffy the vampire slayer, magnum & the a-team would be amongst my faves. The 80s was a particularly great decade for tv themes. Ironic as the 80s is probably my least favourite decade of music.

Baywatch!

Queue the slow running lifeguards in red swimwear

Some people stand in the darkness

Afraid to step into the light

Some people need to help somebody

When the edge of surrender's in sight

Don't you worry

It's gonna be alright

Cause I'm always ready

I won't let you out of my sight.

I'll be ready

I'll be ready

Never you fear

No don't you fear

I'll be ready

Forever and always

I'm always here

Airwolf, Doctor Who, and the old Formula one music are some of my favourites.

My PC is wired up to a proper amp with big speakers on it and we often have quite a loud trawl round You Tube listening to old theme tunes when we have people over for drinks, your mates often come up with things you've forgotten about and you can play "Guess the TV show"
