Maglites are cool if you want then to double up as a truncheon almost in destruction

I've sworn by my Petzl headlamps for years. Use them from caving to running

Prefer my inforce 6 x. Weighs practically nothing incredibly rugged and no metal clanking and it doesn't scratch anything.

the one I used for caving had a double bulb lamp ... Low power and halogen with focusing ... and was waterproof too

lasted hours

Probably led ones out there now which would kick its butt

Broke em both in my time.LED torches are so cheap now I go for quantity not quality.

You can buy 5 cheap one's for one good one and unless your life depends on them that's good enough.

I've had my Petzl head torch for 6 years, never let me down yet. From reading in bed to a midnight summit trek on Kilimanjaro, it's done everything in between.

by the big field

My LED maglight has developed an annoying intermittent fault that I've never been able to sort out. My Petzl headlamp has operated faultlessly for over 2 years, despite it getting bashed about and abused
