One we got was £15, baby oil good for slipping it in but not great for hygiene as oils will hold dirt and bacteria in. Best bet is water based lubes or as I found out recently put it on when in the shower. There is a good guide somewhere on the net to using cages if you search.

Just make sure he can remove it to clean every 3-4 days, and it's very important to sterilise the cage regularly, denture tabs work great for this.
