Mine are getting on a bit.

I have a specialized tri cross single speed.

And a spesh roubaix s works, sl. Mavic sl rims. And campagnolo chorus ten speed group set..

Full carbon frame of course.

Focus Summit, ally frame and boggo Sora 2x9 groupset, but I like it - did a 100-mile sportive on it a couple of years ago, no problem. I'd like a town bike too, and a 'Sunday Best' if I could justify the expense, but truth is I just don't get out enough to make it worth investing in anything better at present.

I have a fucked Cannondale caad8, the rear mech broke and hit the chain stay bending it.

For commuting I have an old Raleigh X1 hybrid, bought it for £25 so it has done me proud.

My pride and joy. A handbuilt Harry Quinn Reynolds 708 frame, built by me at one of his frame building courses. It have Campanolo groupset made up of CDA, record and Athena. It maybe 22 years old but it looks as good as the day I built it.

Shimano free

Don't get me wrong shimano is well made at the high end, durable and reliable but it lacks soul.

Campag has character and flair.

My first few bikes were shimano but first generation STI shifters were so ugly and they've never really improved in my opinion

In all honesty if I was building up a track bike to race on seriously it would be hard to argue campag over shimano but on the road it's far superior

Spesh hard rock,Giant cx now,had Mercian that I built up at14,if only still had it now!used to live near Lakes however did I manage on 52x42 and 13/21 block lol,still got unused campag nuovo rec quill pedals lol probs use them as ornaments!

I had an issac joule tt bike, with navigator deep section rims, bontrager tt bars and fizik saddle.

It was beautiful and a work of art.

Sadly had to sell it due to being skint.

Well MY bike is a 12" Azonic DS2 frame, 26" specialized wheels (I think?) Manitou forks and full shimano xt levers etc both - not top of the range but not to shabby since my dad built it up for me when I was 8! 16 years later it's still in tip top shape

I was the Coolest girl on the council estate back in the day haha

Since he passed away, I now have a 1993 Kona Hei Hei with fu shimano XTR set an Pace forks and a 1998 Specialized hot rock? and mum has a 1995 Klein pinnacle

I even bought my (then) 3yr old a specialized as his first bike lol

Hopefully this will still be the case in about 6 months time when Mrs JFL gives Purchase Director approval on my new bike (I'm guessing the best time to buy is going into Winter?)

September/October time is the best as shops are desperate to offload 2015 models so that they have floor space for the 2016 ones well before Christmas. Later than that and you'll get bigger discounts but less choice

I'm a big fan of them actually. Excellent value and awesome frames. But there is a lot of brand snobbery particularly as when they launched they were only available at Halfords.

Work neat a boardman dealer who also stocks pinerellos and tge boardman's would get my vote every time

Fixed or single freewheel is great if you live in a flattish area with no hills!,Dutch & Belgian riders used to ride on single freewheels in winter and in 60s-70s a single fixed used to be common in UK for racing cyclists in winter.

For me Shimano gets broken, the only Campag thing I have broken is an axle. Not bad for 22 years of riding them.

I'm going to get my bike out again soon from garage.

I bought it 2nd hand from ex-work colleague a few years ago for £75

Been sitting in garage for months as to be truthful I don't like cycling in wet/windy/cold conditions (yup, I'm a big woose). I live near a cycle path which I have used, and prefer to go on cycle path than the road.
