Christmas is FAST approaching whether we want it to or not....

Are you one of those who stick your decorations up as soon as possible like me mate ..re november

We always dress our christmas tree on christmas eve, just a family tradition.

Not so much fun since one of my lads brought his own place and left home and the other son will be away for the third christmas in a row!

2nd Sunday in December we put our tree up, some houses round where I live to have decorations up just after Guy Falkes

Time flies fast enough as it is,why bring things forward?

Christmas decorations shouldn't be seen until well into December,we usually go for the 12 days.

It doesn't seem special anymore when its all done so early.

People seem so impatient these days!

I decorate the lounge and have tree and put little trees in the kids' rooms...I have the kids christimas eve and then the ex comes over christmas morning and we do pressies with them then he has them for christmas dinner.

I think it would be different if I were back home as I find Christmas difficult here away from all my family.and it just doesn't seem like christmas with no snow...lol

xmas eve for me and it goes down day after boxing day lol some of the houses near me have them up for weeks on end both inside and out

They go up 12 days before, come down 12 days after in my house.

In my parents house however, they go up christmas eve and stay up till around the start of February. Great procrastinators, my old folks....

Some of the lazy buggers near us put lights all over their house then can't be arsed to take 'em down.

They have Santa's sleigh on the porch all summer,lol.

They're hanging there all year,just not lit up.

2nd weekend in December for us. We never have the whole lot done in one or two days but most of it is up by then and then gradually do the rest over the next week.

We'll probably be doing the tree three or four times this year as it's littleun's first real Christmas (he was only 8mos old last year) and he's very actively mobile now!

Last couple of days in november cos takes ages to get all lights up and get permmision from civil aviation authority to switch them on. The switch on is december 1st. I love christmas. Always have and always will.

1st December, if I have time. Sometimes I just about manage to get the tree sorted. Poor old musical Father Xmas with moving skiis hasn't been out for two years!

christmas in our house isnt even mentioned till after the 7th of dec.. thats FSM's birthday, lol then we have a mad rush to get everything done on our week off that week.

my presents are bought and wrapped barring two bikes for the kids , have my turkey ordered , and have made the pickles and chutneys lol id have heart faliure if i had to go shopping in december

I have an old house with high ceilings and i love how it looks with a huuuge tree...my decs are all traditional, wooden soldiers and some that have come from german markets etc, none of this 'matching' stuff.

what i really really hate....is taking it all back down again. that's just tedious

my tree is 98% handmade decorations with strings of popcorn instead of garlands. I tried to carry on a tradition I did back home but people thought I was mad.I had a tree decorating party.Your entrance to the party is a handmade decoration that you make yourself.great fun...christmas carols playing...eggnog and munchies lots of laughing...I miss it
