According to this documentary, they have never sold stuff for the higher price, which is against government guidelines.

It's all about making people think they are getting a bargain.

"Apparently it's a good firm to work for. "

They've had massive numbers of staff on zero hours contracts.

Didn't see the show but would have been interesting.

In the absence of a sarcastic smiley I have to rely on the intelligence of the forumites.

If these are charging over the top imagine what all the over sports shops are doing, more TV shit to fool the dim witted i think.

I have always found the the cheapest sports shop on the high street, yes you will find cheaper on the net because they don't have the overheads shops do.

This government tries to promotes zero hour contracts to keep people where they are best controlled/trod on so this particular company is no different to the rest.

I remember when sports direct was a catalogue company, and the lifeguards and personal trainers where I worked used to club together for orders to make the postage cheaper. :D

I thought the players were doing a good enough job of that already.

Hereabouts

I like the free mugs and giant bags that you get when you order online Dunno if they still do them or not. I bought a pair of trainers and a water bottle years ago and the trainers lasted for well over a year and I wore them every day

I don't know why they go through the pretence of showing the higher priced labels. People buy stuff from them because they always have a shit load of stock and it is cheap as chips.

I used to work for the company when I was a younger whipper snapper. £25 a day for a ten hour shift when I first started!

There are people still there that I worked with (obviously on more money than that now) and the owner is very generous, with bonuses and stuff. Not sure if that was mentioned on the programme, haven't watched it yet.

Some of their stuff's fine for the price you pay, some of it's shite. Most of it is just disposable sportswear, if it lasts me 6 months it's still cheaper than buying more expensive gear, the majority of the time.

Regarding staffing, I study with a load of students that work there and they're oddly loyal and fiercely defensive of the place!

Their womens sports clothes are crap unfortunately, as they are far too short and skimpy for someone with my figure. Cheap leggings though.

Their base layers and cycling gear are fine...sure I could get much better for 5x the cost but I don't take sport that seriously anymore and for 50k rides they're fine.
